Unconfirmed reports are suggesting that Elisabeth Sladen has passed away.

Twitter and Facebook are coming down with rumorus that the 63 year old actress died after facing complications arising from a battle with cancer.

Elisabeth was best known as Sarah-Jane Smith from Doctor Who and later her own spinoff show The Sarah Jane Adventures.

She appeared as a regular on Doctor Who with both Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, and has reprised the role many times.

Sadly, it is confirmed (http://www.doctorwhonews.net/2011/04/dwn190411204508-elisabeth-sladen-1948.html)

This was really out of the blue and very sad.

Long live Sarah Jane Smith!

Wow, that's a blindside for a Tuesday evening.

I saw one report that her show was supposed to come back for another season this fall on the BBC.

Matt Smith was supposed to have made a appearance on the 2011 season of The Sarah Jane Adventures. I think given things hinted at during her appearances on the recent seasons of Doctor Who that it was going to be revealed that Sarah's Son was fathered by The Doctor.

I can't take this anymore......all the best memories and people in my life just seem to be dying.

I love you, Ms. Sladen. I would say "God" bless your soul, but its seems to me that this "God" we have is intent on destruction, not life. Your spirit lives on and I will always cherrish the first memory of TV I have: you and Tom Baker in "Robot".

I don't know what else to type......because I can't put the pain in my head into words.

Wow. I've been a Doctor Who fan since I first discovered the show on Maryland Public Television back when I was in high school, so... about 21, 22 years. I feel like a member of my family has just died. :(

Rest In Peace, Sarah Jane.

I said it in the other thread but I feel I must repeat myself. The quintessential companion is dead. I'm sorry to see such a major childhood fixture die.

I've always heard that whichever "Doctor" you saw first will always be your favorite...that goes for "companions" too.

Rest in Peace, Ms. Sladen...you always will be my "favorite". :(

Tom Baker's tribute (http://www.tom-baker.co.uk/pages/content/index.asp?PageID=159) was nice (as were his words at Nicholas Courtney's passing), focusing on how loved she was.

Watched "School Reunion" tonight in memory of Lis Sladen. It was nice to see her emotional return.
