Never been there. Oktoberfest isn't nationwide, it's just in Munich. I have been to Munich, but never around that time.

I would agree here. Since you live in Berlin, have you had an opportunity to travel around Europe? If so, where?

Ever since the end of WWII, American culture has influenced German youths to a degree where you can't really look at American Culture separately. Sure, there are the "overweight couch potato" cliches, but even those are starting to fade away.

That's interesting. Do German youths look to own american luxury sedans or sports cars? Here, there is a good amount of american youngsters and older adults that desire cars from Germany like BMWs and whatnot. Personally, I seldom see any American cars in Europe.

I see. So would you be more likely to buy an English or German version of a comic if you were given an opinion?

Three times. 1983, 1984, 1985. Two of those times, I stayed mainly in West Virginia and Ohio, the third (and first) trip was a cross-country tour. I don't remember a lot of it, besides visiting Disneyland, eating pancakes with maple syrup somewhere at the Canadian border (Wisconsin?), McDonald's Happy Meals with little plastic trains and rails on the cardboard boxes... and seeing tons of insects and spiders.

Wow, that's pretty good traveling. You're english on these boards is very good. Please tell us how you are so fluent with the language, as it's very difficult for the average American to speak a language second language.

For non-students over 25, it's almost impossible to afford one. Over here, they come with a tariff that's insanely high. Still, there isn't a day on which I don't see somebody with one on the subway.

That's interesting to know. So, what's the most popular cell phone in Berlin? I ask because I live in California, and in my area (especially in southern California), cell phone are somewhat a status symbol. The kind of cell phone you rock, is almost as import as the car you drive.

None. I'm absolutely broke. Beyond broke. I don't even have money for the good books.

Forgot the title. A really bad independent title in the late nineties. Something with the doors of hell. Completely black and white. I couldn't make it past the second issue.

Not necessarily.

If I had the money? Mac. But I don't, so it's PC by default.

My gut wants to say mashup. But in reality, I hear a lot more Hip Hop than Country.

When I grew up, he was like me. An outcast, highly religious, unhappy with his looks, but almost always in a good mood, German... When I started to draw comic book characters, I realized how cool his looks were. I started getting Nightcrawler sketches at conventions. And some day, I will write a Nightcrawler solo series. At least that way, I can make sure that his accent is plausible and without typos.

I don't know if you have been following X-Men: Second Coming. In the storyline so far, Kurt has been oppose to Cyclop's sanction of X-Force and their black ops. Recently, it looks like he has been depowered. Rumors/speculations are that he won't survive this story arc. What are you thoughts on Nightcrawler going the way of Jean Gray?

We don't have all of them. For instance, we don't have Taco Bell. What we do have is McD, Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC, Subways and a few German chains. But I'm probably forgetting a few.

There was a lot of media hype, but the people I know weren't touched by it.

And what's up with David Hasselhoff?

I loved Knight Rider. Still do. I loved his songs. Not anymore, though. Too shallow. Never cared about Baywatch. Actually liked him as Fury. And it's a shame that he doesn't get his drinking under control.

England, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Italy (including Vatican) and the Czech Republic. Otherwise, I've been to the USA, Canada and Israel.

There are Fords on the street, but the rest is mainly European, with maybe a Toyota or two.

English. For the sole reason that I get it earlier. Translation takes a couple of months.

First of all, thank you for the compliment. I think it helped a lot that I visited the States when I was a kid. After that, I didn't speak English for almost a decade, though. My teachers in school tried to teach us British English. That clashed quite a bit with the American still buried in the back of my head. After that, I had Irish teachers, Australian teachers... It's funny. For a while, Americans thought I was British, and Brits thought I was American.
But I think what really helped me was switching entertainmentwise almost exclusively to English. English books, English comic books, English movies, English tv shows, English video games... DVDs with additional audio tracks were a huge help.

And then I discovered the internet.

Nokias were really popular until they closed a factory in Germany and thousands of people lost their jobs. Other popular cell phones are Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson... And sure, the iPhone is popular. It's just expensive as hell.

Oh, I'm sure it is. But they haven't been on the market long enough to really reach a lot of people. I wouldn't be surprised if two years from now, everybody had one.

Why Cologne?

I was born and grew up there. And while it's smaller than Berlin, it has a lot more heart. Besides, it's older. What wasn't bombed to smithereens in WWII has beautiful architecture. The Cathedral alone is the most impressive building I have ever seen. And I prefer the people in Cologne.

What's your favorite color?

Black and red, especially the combination.

25th hour. Closely followed by the Usual Suspects.

I think it was based on the castle in one of the movies, Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty, which in turn was based on Neuschwanstein.

I don't follow it that much. But I like the 1. FC Köln to stay in the first league. Other than that, I really don't care.

I don't get it. It gets me, mostly when I least expect it. I can't force it, but I don't need to. Ideas are attracted to my brain, I guess.

what is the literal product from you, which you are most proud of and why?

A short story about time travel called "Between the lines".

Do you have idols?

Not really. I admire comic book writer/artists, though.

Are you doing some kind of sport?

I started with Krav Maga lessons last week. Before that, I hardly did any sports for a decade. I run sometimes, and every couple of years you see me playing volleyball, but nothing regular.

See above. An older half-sister.

Do you think the GL movie will be a sucess in germany?

That depends on how many other 3D movies will be released around that time. Look at Alice: Avatar was still in theaters when it started. And when they stopped playing Avatar, they switched to How To Tame a Dragon. Alive was sandwiched in-between, which really hurt its sales. Sure, there is the 2D-version, but the money is in 3D tickets.

Do think it will attract new fans?

As an idea? Sure. As a comic book? Not with Panini's graphic novel format. It's a great price/content ratio, but they are too expensive to be impulse buys.
