The point of this Forum Section

Some members are a little iffy on what should go in the Games & Humor forum section so.

Trivial games like "the person above you game" should be placed in this forum.

Humor of all kinds also belongs here, like the "Superman has a problem with kinky sex" thread.

What does not belong here would be things like video games, board games. Or humor coming directly out of comic books or discussion of books.

Boardgames and the like would go in the Action Figure and Toys section as could video games, though those could also be posted in the General Forum Section.

also any posts in this Forum Section do not count towards your post count.

Hope that helps!

      Good on him.
Now...here's to hoping it doesn't kill his career.

Sadly as Rupert Everett put it, "Coming out as a gay actor, killed my career". Let's just hope the same doesn't apply as Quinto.

The problem with coming out and admitting your gay is that people will never look at you the way they used to. When they see you, all they will think is that your gay, so it will be a little hard for them to take you seriously as playing a straight man.

I'll never understand why celebrities feel the need to "open up" and "come out" and make a public spectacle out of their personal life. It's none of our business.

I'm really kind of envious that you feel that way, Saylent.

This comment baffles me. Why is it so important to wear your sexuality on your sleeve publicly?

Now, before you comment, keep in mind that I'm not implying that gays should hide from normal society. Go out, be who you are, just don't make a spectacle out of it. If someone raises an eyebrow, fuck them, it's their issue and not yours.

The concept I'm struggling with in the whole gay/straight dialog is that your sexuality is a part of who you are, it's only a punctuation point in the definition of who you are. It's not he definition, unless you choose it to be...which to me is kind of sad.
Now you'd never call Erwin a "Wussy"
Nor label his working day "cushy"
But you might have to question
              His endless obsession

Oh Razor, you give me hope and frustration at the exact same time.

Everyone wears their sexuality on their sleeves. Everyone. How many threads do we have here about "Hotties"? How many comments do we have about "nailing" or "hitting" that? How many ads are there with men kissing women? How many tv shows about heterosexual couples? How many comedians rely on "My wife hates it..." or "My husband hates it..."?

I'm not saying that's bad, I know that gay/queer/bi people are in the minority, so it only makes sense that there's far more stuff out there for straight people. But...that doesn't mean that straight people don't wear their sexuality on their sleeves. It's just that when most people have the same color sleeve, you tend to notice the different people first.

People coming out of the closet will stop being important when there's no closet for them to get stuck in. When gay people aren't thrown off of airplanes for kissing their significant others. When gay people can marry in all 50 states. When we're not blamed for deaths during war time, or natural disasters. When people don't make camps designed to make us "straight."

When I was with my partner I had to look around and make sure we were in a safe neighborhood before we held hands, or kissed in public. And I live in MA.

You may not think it's a big deal, but a lot of other people do. And until they don't, it'll continue to be a big deal.

To paraphrase Dan Savage: Don't tell me my sexuality shouldn't be a big deal, I already know it's not, tell the people who think it's bad.

My problem isn't that I'm straight, it's that I don't live my life for the acceptance of others.

All the examples you cited are just side effects of living a life that isn't considered the norm by other people. You equate being normal with living a life free of the burdens of being different. But you're so caught up in your differences you seem to miss the fact that we all have burdens associated with who we are.

What I'm getting at is that the majority of so called 'normal' people don't give a fuck about your sexuality. It's a very vocal minority who is giving you shit. But guess what, that vocal minority seems to exist for everyone. And fighting with them is pointless.

Hardship exists for everyone. From where I sit, being gay is easy. Try living with a physical abnormality. You can look around a neighborhood and stop holding hands as a gay identifier, but imagine what life is like when you can't stop being freakishly tall, fat or a redhead. (Holy shit you wouldn't believe how much shit red heads take on a daily basis.)

I'm not trying to run down your experiences, I guess I'm just tired of being told I couldn't possibly understand when the fact is that I understand better than you think about being considered abnormal.

If it's really like you say and that gay people have to make a big deal out of it, because of that vocal minority, then the closet will always exist and you are contributing to it's continued need.

Sometimes the only way to win the game is not to play.

That's so easy for you to say.
In fact, all of this is so easy for you to say.

It could be possible. The man spent a good deal of time taking nude pictures of women.
Surely he was overcompensating for....yeah I have no idea.
