  • The obnoxious stuff that roommates did to you

One time I had a roommate who complained that I was chewing Cheetos too loudly.

I'm still pissed off about that.

Oh I have a worse one. One night my brother in law needed a place to sleep so I let him crash on our couch. And my asshole roommate, who NEVER scored, brought a girl in and was so proud he finally had a girl in there that he left his door open so my brother-in-law could hear her stupid moaning. I got up and closed the door, and the son of a bitch got up and opened it again, and again she want back to moaning. Oh, I wanted to kill him.

I had a roommate that I didn't exactly think was the greatest, but I can't pin down anything he did that was specifically obnoxious. His personality was just a bit grating. I generally get along with roommates pretty easily. I have had some roommates that were a bit touchy about things, but nothing truly obnoxious.

If I had to pick an obnoxious action, I'd probably pick one of the very few times that I was kept out of my room by a roommate "entertaining" a girl. I know that's supposed to be like part of some guy code or whatever, but I always found it something of an imposition, especially since a.) there was never any real advance warning, and b.) I was never going to be asking them to reciprocate.

All-girls dorm, back in the day when they had such things. By luck of the draw, I got a roommate that was not just a dope smoker, but also sank her entire financial aid check down enough to deal to everybody in the building. Never told me a damn thing. One day I decided that the trash on both sides of the room had to go. I emptied the trash. Guess where her stash was.

She moved out the next week. I had a single for the rest of the year. Guess I was the bad roommate, right?

The power of will is found at the deepest level of your being. It's more than mere rules. It's a duty that you must honor.

My sophomore year of college I had a dorm mate who brought his girlfriend back to the room(which was tiny) and they got high. He got a call and left for a while. We did some stuff. I went to sleep and when he got back they had sex like I wasn't there and she never made eye contact with me again.

My senior year, I shared an apartment with two other guys. One was a nerdy white guy who shared my interests in comics, the other was a pot smoking leech who abused his girlfriend. After a while, me and his girlfriend became legit friends. I tried getting her out of that relationship but she just couldn't leave him. It killed me. So one day, I'm listening my music very loudly when I hear her scream and bang on my door. She says he has a gun and that he's threatening to kill her. So of course I come out hesitantly and try to defuse the situation. I tell him that whatever happened, its not worth an attempted murder charge. He leaves. I call the cops. Two weeks later, me and her are together and he's moved out (but left all his shit). As for the other roommate, he was robbed while I went out of town before all this happened, and we're both sure it was by our old roommate. No forced entry to the apartment but they broke his door handle...

I once stayed on my friends girlfriend's couch for an entire school year. We were friends too but I didn't pay rent or utilities or anything. When he started cheating on her, I had to play dumb and keep them together so I'd have a place to stay...and be a good friend.

People do such fucked up stuff at that age that it's a wonder so many if them survive.
