The point of this Forum Section

Some members are a little iffy on what should go in the Games & Humor forum section so.

Trivial games like "the person above you game" should be placed in this forum.

Humor of all kinds also belongs here, like the "Superman has a problem with kinky sex" thread.

What does not belong here would be things like video games, board games. Or humor coming directly out of comic books or discussion of books.

Boardgames and the like would go in the Action Figure and Toys section as could video games, though those could also be posted in the General Forum Section.

also any posts in this Forum Section do not count towards your post count.

Hope that helps!

Welcome to Mister Ed's 15 Minutes

Welcome all to Mister Ed's 15 Minutes. Here are a few questions to get us started. Remember the more questions you answer the more people will participate and vice versa.

    And....here...we......GO!!...

    Current Favorite TV Show?

Which comic book universe would you live in?

Would you be an Earthbender, Waterbender, Airbender or Firebender?
I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. No one takes them all that seriously and they get bored with them after about 10 minutes.

If a talking horse appeared in your yard, what would be the first three questions you'd ask it?

What is the goriest, violent movie that you actually enjoy watching or have enjoyed watching?

What's with all these kids and their pokemans?

    Arisia or Iolande?

What time period would you most want to live in or visit, if you could have access to healthcare and other basic needs as they're handled now?

      Current Favorite TV Show?

I'm going to assume you mean favorite current TV show? As is show that is currently on? Does Sherlock count as "current" when there've been no new episodes for ages? If it does, I'll pick that. The only other "current" show I watch is Agents of SHIELD, though I did watch the Gotham premiere last night and thought it had promise.

Which comic book universe would you live in?

Hmm....I guess that would depend on whether I had superpowers to deal with all the scary junk that is always going on. If not, if I just had to be a normal guy, I might pick something realtively safe, like Archie. If I was going to BE a superhero, I'd pick DC.

Would you be an Earthbender, Waterbender, Airbender or Firebender?

Which is least likely to get me and my family killed? I never watched Avatar (because I never had any easy way to do so legally).

If a talking horse appeared in your yard, what would be the first three questions you'd ask it?

Well, realistically the first would be the stupidly obvious, yet kind of natural, shocked, "You can talk?!"

Then probably, "Where'd you come from?"

Then, I guess, "Can I help you?"

There'd be a lot more than three questions asked in the end, I expect.

What is the goriest, violent movie that you actually enjoy watching or have enjoyed watching?

Well, I like The Matrix, though that wasn't particularly gory. I enjoyed Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but any gore in that was so obviously fake as to be humorous. I've seen a cut of Robocop that had extra gore, but I enjoyed the less gory version I saw better (and even that is not among my favorites).

What's with all these kids and their pokemans?

I honestly don't know. My kids were sort of into Pokemon for a little while, but they never had the cards, and we never actually OWNED any of the games, so it was mostly watching episodes from the library (or on-line), or playing games checked out from the library (or the ones that are available to play on-line). My oldest was reading Bulbapedia pretty heavily for a while. He, like me, will sometimes develop an interest in something and spend way too much time researching it, beyond any time he actually spends watching, playing, etc.

        Arisia or Iolande?

Arisia I guess. I've known the character for longer.

What time period would you most want to live in or visit, if you could have access to healthcare and other basic needs as they're handled now?

Assuming that a.) this would not cause some kind of paradox, wiping out life as we know it, b.) my family would be able to come with me, and c.) I'd get to preview the time before actually arriving there, then I'd probably pick some time in the distant future.

Current favorite TV show could either be a show currently on now or a show that you are currently watching regardless of when it was on (binge watching Arrow or Spartacus for example)

            Dear Mr. Ed,

What single entity (human or otherwise) do you identify with the most in the entire Star Wars universe and why?

Well, I'm currently rewatching Babylon 5 so my son can see it. I like that better than SHIELD on the whole. Not sure about Sherlock. I really like Sherlock. But Babylon 5 has an epic, overall story that I really enjoy, whereas Sherlock is more like a series of loosely related movies.

Which television Star Trek captain would you most want to sit and talk with for a hour?

If you're introducing someone to the Star Wars movie universe for the first time, do you start them off with the latest trilogy and watch them in chronological order or show them the original trilogy first?

What's the most embarrassing thing you can remember happening to you in your childhood?

Is there ever a situation where you see yourself wearing socks with your sandals? If so, explain the situation.

A kind of deep question, and understandable if you don't want to answer - Would you rather one of your kids come home and be guilty of being a bully, or being a victim of a bully?

Most identify with...hmm...well, I'm not really one to get in the middle of epic events, so I probably shouldn't pick any major characters. Not many family men in the saga, are there? Just plugging along providing for their loved ones, being silly with the kids, stuff like that. I might say Uncle Owen, but he's too humorless. Obi-wan's got the beard, and, in the prequels at least, something of the joking manner, but I don't want to give the impression I feel like I'm a Jedi or something...

                  I'm really not sure.

What do you like most about being a Father?

Will you teach your children to "turn the other cheek" when involved in confrontations? If so, or not, why?

What are the keys to a successful marriage?

What is the most important life lesson you've learned in college?

What would your ideal career be and why?

If you took over writing the main GL title, what changes would you make?

Name and explain a philosophy that you live by.

Who do you think is the most attractive female celebrity on the planet?

If you could turn back time and fix or alter one thing in your life, what would it be?

                        Well, I'll ask my usuals:

                        1. If you knew you were going to be stuck on a deserted island and could take 5 books, 5 movies, and 5 albums (with a mysterious ability to play the last 10), what would you choose?

                        2. If you could instantly learn a language you don't currently know, what would it be?

                        3. If you could have dinner with anyone from the past, who would you pick?

                        4. If you could choose your own death, what would it be?

                        5. If you could have an exotic pet (money for upkeep is not an issue), what would you like?

                        6. Do you have a guilty pleasure movie?

                        7. What is your favorite food?

But since it's you, some Trekkie questions too:

Favorite Trek show, movie, captain, non-captain character, and book?

If you could have just one of the technologies on ST, what would you choose?

Well even the standard R version of Robocop was notoriously bloody for an action flick.

If we're sitting and talking? Picard. If we're adventuring, maybe Kirk, so long as I have plot protection...

If you're introducing someone to the Star Wars movie universe for the first time, do you start them off with the latest trilogy and watch them in chronological order or show them the original trilogy first?

The only correct way, with the original trilogy first.

What's the most embarrassing thing you can remember happening to you in your childhood?

Most of the really embarrassing stuff I "remember" I'm not sure I remember, or if I only THINK I remember them because my Mom told me about them enough times. I did get pantsed in gym class with girls present once. I recall finding that embarassing.

Is there ever a situation where you see yourself wearing socks with your sandals? If so, explain the situation.

Well, I know I've done it, so obviously there is. And yet I also know that I generally don't, because it looks lame. So I'm kind of at a loss to explain the times I did. I think some might have been while mowing the lawn, wearing socks because I wanted to keep my feet from getting too messy, but sandals because it was too hot for shoes.

A kind of deep question, and understandable if you don't want to answer - Would you rather one of your kids come home and be guilty of being a bully, or being a victim of a bully?

That might depend on the circumstances. I'd probably rather they were the victim than the bully, but I'd rather they be caught verbally bullying somebody than be beaten to a pulp by a bully.

Yeah, I'm not going to be answering that. Partly because that's not the sort of information I'd be likely to share with you, but mostly because I don't really think that way naturally, and don't really want to attempt to just to answer such a question.
