The point of this Forum Section

Some members are a little iffy on what should go in the Games & Humor forum section so.

Trivial games like "the person above you game" should be placed in this forum.

Humor of all kinds also belongs here, like the "Superman has a problem with kinky sex" thread.

What does not belong here would be things like video games, board games. Or humor coming directly out of comic books or discussion of books.

Boardgames and the like would go in the Action Figure and Toys section as could video games, though those could also be posted in the General Forum Section.

also any posts in this Forum Section do not count towards your post count.

Hope that helps!

Digimon Savers. Ugh. As a whole, the Digimon cartoons went downhill after Tamers. Frontier and Savers were just...weird. I have low hopes for Xros Wars/Fusion, but I'll wait for to see the whole dub series to pass judgment.

It makes more sense to have the human around in Pokemon, where so many (though not all) of the beasts seem less than fully sentient, and might be seen to logically require a trainer. (Of course that kind of makes it seem like amped up dog fighting, which IS a bit troublesome. But at least the presence of the human part of the pair makes sense. )

Why are the humans involved at all, in Digimon? (Never seen the show. I have seen Bakugan, another show which paired sentient creatures and humans, and I always wondered why the humans were necessary for the battles in that one.)

Human partners with Digimon because it is only through them that they can achieve a higher level of evolution. In the same way a wild Pokemon would be weaker then a Pokemon being trained, a Digimon without a human partner is significantly weaker then one with a partner. There's some existential "magic of childrens' hopes and dreams" reasoning behind it, but for the sake of this argument since neither party is evolving, a human partner is all but useless.

The humans are needed in the first season because they are the "Digidestined" and only they have the power to get their Partner Digimon to digivolve to defeat the evil Digimon who control the Digital World (Devimon, Myotismon and then the Dark Masters) with these things called Digivices and Crests. Digivices allow the Digimon to go from Rookie form to Champion form i.e. Agumon to Greymon and the Crests allow them to go from Champion to Ultimate i.e. Greymon to MetalGreymon. After about 75% of the first season is done, the two main guys of the group are able to get their Partner Digimon to go from Ultimate to Mega form i.e. MetalGreymon to WarGreymon. Then after saving the Digital World the first group of kids have to go back to Earth. A few years later, a group of 5 kids, 3 new ones, and two from the original series go to the Digital World to save it from the Dark Emperor SPOILER(he later becomes a good guy), who uses a "Dark Digivice" to keep the original Digimon from Digivolving, and they find these Digieggs and discover a new type of Digivolution called "Armor Digivolution" where a Partner Digimon i.e. Veemon can digivolve to a level that pretty much has the some power level as a Champion i.e. Flamedramon. I explain more about what happens in Season 2, but thats basically all you need to know

Digimon is similar to Pokemon and yet totally different, i.e. most Digimon can speak English

I always had the impression that Digimon was just a Pokemon knockoff. I don't know if that's actually true, and don't have enough interest to actually check, but that perception makes me want to vote for Pikachu. But, since I can't, as I said, be bothered to check that perception against reality, I think I'll just not vote at all.

With him becoming so huge and powerful in comparison to Pikachu, then it's simply stupid to engage in the discussion as a fight; it's only worth would be in personal preference for one or the other.
    Sigh you're right
