The point of this Forum Section

Some members are a little iffy on what should go in the Games & Humor forum section so.

Trivial games like "the person above you game" should be placed in this forum.

Humor of all kinds also belongs here, like the "Superman has a problem with kinky sex" thread.

What does not belong here would be things like video games, board games. Or humor coming directly out of comic books or discussion of books.

Boardgames and the like would go in the Action Figure and Toys section as could video games, though those could also be posted in the General Forum Section.

also any posts in this Forum Section do not count towards your post count.

Hope that helps!

Really good casting choices here, this is a tough one. I don't like Sean William Scott or Kristin Bell, but I don't hate those choices either. Though I'm not sure how I'd feel about a Ron Howard JLI movie.

The only casting choice of Kuhan's I wasn't digging is Thomas Jane as Batman. Come on...Thomas Jane...really? I even like Jane, but so many better Batman choices out there.

With only having one off casting, and Joss Whedon directing, have to go with Kuhan.

Both of these Batman choices are so bad. So so bad. Kuhan gets extra points for picking a Greek actress and some more for picking my Martian Manhunter. Also, Zoe Saldana.

I agree with West, but Sylent's cast of Guy & MM is good enough

Bring on CHAOS, bring on MY HAPPINESS, bring on rage ..Rage ..RAGE!!!

Hm. This was a close call. I went with Assassin's because I can imagine them having a slightly better chemistry. They are about even for me as far as theme for me and I generally like the actors chosen, though not necessarily the role they were chosen for. This one was really close for me.

I thought Thomas Jane was a pretty good pick... Maybe a bit old...

Anyway, why you should pick my team over Sylent's!

My team is definitely more readily available to take a backseat or work in an ensemble.
            • Lance Reddick is best-known for his work on Fringe, where he's a supporting castmember
            • Chris Hemsworth was shown to work well in an ensemble cast with Avengers
            • Lee Pace ain't gettin' enough work to be picky
            • One of Zoe Saldana's biggest roles was in an ensemble as Star Trek (also, the Losers)
            • Thomas Jane is just an all-around badass.
            • Olivia Wilde's best known for her work in an ensemble cast in House
            • Dilsad Vadsaria's biggest work was in an ensemble cast in GREEK
            • I don't think Joss Whedon knows how to do anything BUT an ensemble. Though let's be fair: The movie will end up focusing on Zatanna or Gypsy

Now, let's look at Sylent's Cast!
            • Sean William Scott: Scott's comedic style consists mostly of piping up too loud for the situation and being the loudest person on screen... perfect for Guy Gardner (I'm not a fan of the pick, but it does make sense)
            • Shane West... don't know who this guy is.
            • Bradley Cooper: He may have started in the Hangover, but I don't know if this guy's ready to be relegated to "comedy relief duo" in the comedy movie. Since Hangover, he's done A-Team, Limitless, and Valentine's Day, as well as Hangover II. All of these are big movies with big stars attached (the exceptions being Limitless, which starred Cooper himself, and Hangover II, which was the sequel to the film that brought him to international prominence.) I really don't think he works in a cast like this.
            • James Roday: Sean Spencer is the main character of his show, but Roday's dynamic with Dulé Hill would probably translate well to Ted's relationship with Booster
            • Kristen Bell: Kristen Bell still fancies herself a star. She hasn't been the "love interest" in a movie recently, preferring to take the role of "strong single woman who doesn't need a man until she does." I don't think she'd be content in the role of "the girl"
            • Laurence Fishburne: Great actor, but a bit serious for this movie. Also, his nose doesn't strike me as a J'onn nose.
            • Morena Baccarin: Bitch. This is a fact. But, I'm sure she works fine in an ensemble, being in Firefly and don't know much about Fire's character. Still a bitch though
            • Ron Howard: DAMMIT. QT would've won me the round. Howard is a much better fit.

Detroit's totally a better them than International. I briefly considered doing JLI, but I thought the joke was too obvious.

Dammit, Kuhan! Stop begging! You're taking the fun out of this... and you're not being objective, especially when it comes to Morena.

One word describes why my team should win: Chemistry... and my team would have fun making this movie while yours would be off in their own world which would translate onto the big screen.

I had to actually check to see whether Batman was ever on the Detroit team, or whether he was just included to increase mass appeal (which wouldn't be a terrible thing, IMHO).

Turns out he was, though not at the same time as Aquaman. I'm not really in a position to quibble about precision in the line-up, though, since I swapped Hal for Alan and Barry for Jay (well that one WAS kind of ambiguous).

Anyways, what it came down to was just how good I thought the casting was. Hard to say on some, since I'm not familiar with all the actors, but I felt Sylent had the edge there. Add to that the fact that I personally feel like JLI would be a more fun movie than JL: Detroit, and I had to give my vote to Sylent. Tough call though.

(And yeah, if Sylent still had QT as director, I probabaly WOULD have voted for you, Kuhan. Sorry.)

Begging is all the fun of this!

And I'm being...mostly objective. It's all subjective anyway. However, Morena Baccarin is OBJECTIVELY a bitch. Dem's cold hard facts.

My team would have great chemistry! Your team is filled with prima donnas, whereas mine are all mostly used to taking a back seat and would appreciate a time to shine!

GAH! WHY IS THIS SO CLOSE!

I'd honestly rather be blown out than lose by one vote.

Of course... I'd prefer to win...

Well, in a way it seems a testament to both your teams that this contest has attracted more total votes than any of the others...

^Yeah, other battles only attracted 10-11 votes while ours is on 15.

In all competitions, the 4 vs. 5 seed match-ups are usually the most competitive as they are more evenly matched than the others in the field. Hopefully, the winner of this battle doesn't get steamrolled by A-Train in the next round.
