Idea for the next draft

This is a sticky topic.

Well, I was under the impression that you were proposing limiting it more severely, like if there were 16 people in the draft, drafting 7 member teams, the pool would be exactly 112. I could undoubtedly come up with some kind of clever theme out of a pool of 112 heroes, but it would never survive to the end of the draft, and more likely would get hosed before the halfway mark.

lol No but I just thought of what I'm going to do if this rule isn't deaded. (Yes, I know that "deaded" isn't a word.)Originally posted by fearless2814.1 View PostYou gonna try for Wonder Woman again?
Really I'm just trying to cheat and do another Cast a DC/Marvel Movie/TV draft...Originally posted by Mister Ed View PostI'm curious what idea you have that would require doing so (not that I object to ditching the rule). I'm sure it is just a failure of imagination on my part, but I'm having a hard time picturing how one would cast comic book characters as comic book characters in a show without it being lame.

Which is why I say we do it over something like the Hero draft. Maybe make it 200, that way there's room to work with themes and such. I'm certain you can think of something clever with a grouping of 200 popular heroes.Originally posted by Mister Ed View PostThat might ruin the fun for me, personally. I'm all about the theme, and if it is just "grab what you can from this limited pool" that will become almost impossible. And will make the teams people end up with less interesting, IMHO.
Unless the goal is to grab a team to accomplish a specific task, or win a battle, or something like that. If we are going to draft like sports teams draft, then I'd think the goals should be similar, in the sense of making the best team we can to pit against the other teams in some kind of competition of skill or power. Then when voting time comes, the arguments would be about whose team would win, not whose was coolest or cleverest.

I like this stipulation as well if we go with the smaller stable to choose from. Because having it be theme based would make a smaller set of characters be too frustrating to complete. Someone might choose a character that would completely wreck my theme.Originally posted by Mister Ed View PostUnless the goal is to grab a team to accomplish a specific task, or win a battle, or something like that. But, if we're choosing a team based on a battle or task, character restrictions wouldn't be as detrimental and might even make it more interesting.

Any Justice League? Including Justice League Dark, Justice League 3000, Justice League Antarctica and Justice League of Air?

I say next time we do a Hero or Villain draft, before we do actual drafting, we make a list of 120-150 characters to choose from.

I don't think that should be implemented in this draft, but maybe for the next Hero/Villain drafts? Like only DC heroes that have been Justice League members...Originally posted by Caleb Lancaster View PostNo. What I mean is we shorten the list. Awwwwww that means I have to throw my Avengers starring Agent Liberty and Blue Beetle idea out the windowOriginally posted by Mister Ed View PostSee, I don't think this sort of rule is even necessary. I don't see the point of any rule that is essentially some version of "don't make a crappy team". If somebody wants to make a crappy team, I say let them.
