Which is why you don't think you have bad taste.

Actually, you don't so much have BAD taste, as limited taste, as far as I can see from what you've posted elsewhere. You like stuff to be dark, gritty, bloody, "mature". As far as I can tell, there isn't ANYTHING you feel wouldn't be improved by adding more violence and bloodshed, and sufficient "mature" elements are enough for you to overlook a multiplicity of other possible flaws in a work. There are plenty of people here that like a lot of the same stuff that you like, I think. I just think most of them manage to also like OTHER types of stuff as well, and don't let pretty blood splatter blind them to shortcomings as much.

Or perhaps that's all an act you put on for our benefit. This IS the internet, after all!

No, you're bang on! The only other thing that improves stuff is naked lesbians. But yeah, I love dark and gritty stuff, that's why I love the film Daredevil, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengance, and prefer Batman Returns to The Dark Knight.

          Existing and random cartoon characters.

The thing is, how many of you actully know jack shit about old animated shows from the 80s?
Most of us. Ninja Turtles, Avin and the Chipmunks, He-Man, GI Joe, Transformers... There were a lot of old animated shows from the 80s that are in the social conscience. 90s as well.

Surely it'd be more interesting to draft a comicbook related animated show than draft a random group of 80s and 90s cartoon characters into a bizzare group.
Comic books are for children. Also, guess what? They were kids shows for 80s and 90s children. And guess what we were in the 80s and 90s? That's right! Children!

I'm all in for the Cartoon Character Draft.

So... HD3, Avengers, Caleb's Villain (?) Draft, Cartoon Characters? This is acceptable.

I think I'll run my Villain Draft next to the Avengers Draft.
Also, I have a crazy idea.
We Have the Top 2 of the Hero 3, Avengers, Villain 3, and Cartoon Characters enter into a new league to determine which team is the best of the drafts.

HAhaha I love that people have to belittle other people's ideas because no one likes theirs or their limited knowledge of things would make them unable to play or have a difficult time playing.

"I don't know about anything from the 80's and 90's. That draft idea sucks and makes no sense and is too random. WAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. No one takes them all that seriously and they get bored with them after about 10 minutes.

So, for all these upcoming drafts, they're going to 7 slots on a team, right?
Because I think 7 is a lot better than 5. A bigger challenge, but greater reward. All the best teams are 7.

I think you are right. Sometimes it can be a bit too easy to put together a team of 5. And heck, sometimes 5 just seems to limiting.

I wonder, though, is it necessary to have a number of requirements equal to the number of team members? The fewer team members that have to be picked to satisfy the the requirements, the more slots are open for really fine-tuning a theme with whatever you want. Some requirements seem necessary just to avoid TOTALLY comparing apples to oranges, but others, while kind of fun, can really throw a wrench into a possible cohesive team concept.

But more often than not, the stipulations and requirements for these drafts end up making me create a better team than I thought I could. I'd think the same for most of the teams people have here. It's that much more satisfying when you make a team like that, and find a character you didn't even think to use because of a stipulation. That's why I thought for the Villain Draft that it not be just the DC, Marvel, and Indie, but also a requisite as needing someone from indie comics. I ended up finding a character from Dark Horse that will make my Villain Team Perfect.

Ok, have we all decided what draft we're doing?

I'm not seeing a real rush to nail down future drafts at this point. I mean the current draft is far from over, Avengers is already lined up behind that, too.

Realistically, we don't need to decide anything as a group. I see this more as people tossing ideas out there to see how popular they are, so when somebody feels like taking the responsibility of actually RUNNING another draft, they have some idea of what will get enough participation. Sounds like Caleb might be leaning toward running the villain draft concurrent with the Avengers one.

What's next (and when) is kind of up to the individual that chooses to run them. This discussion just helps those people avoid a situation where they post a draft and not enough people enter...

Yeah, I'm thinking of having the Villain Draft run next to the Avengers Draft.
I'm also thinking about making the Villain Draft 3 a bit different, and certainly done a bit more interestingly, some of them I'll save for when they happen.
One thing that I am thinking of doing is seeing about instead of having the drafting phase take a week, we try and get it done in a single night by trying to get as many people together for it at once. Something like how your typical fantasy sport drafts go.
