Show summary:
Evil Genius Dr. Zomboss is bent on world domination. But his many zombie creations have one fatal flaw, they are dumb as posts. (I envision some great humor coming from his constant frustration with being surrounded by idiots.) He needs BRAINS. Unfortuantely, he is constantly thwarted by the creations of eccentric botanist "Crazy Dave" who runs a yardwork business that is hired by pretty much everybody in town.
The plants are led by Shooter, a determined, yet humble peashooter who is dedicated to protecting folks from the zombie invasion. His love interest is Flower, the sunflower who is able to provide power boosts to all the defenders. His staunchest ally is Squash, a loyal and tough (if rather dim) ...well, squash. Starfruit, ("Please, call me Star") is a rather smarmy, egotistical rival for Flower's affections, who also thinks he should be in charge, but who is more concerned about being "awesome" than about where his widely scattered attacks actually land.
Aside from dropping the plants off at whatever house they are defending, with some kind of ludicrous, wacky "pep talk", Crazy Dave will periodically provide experimental upgrades to various plants (allowing Shooter to shoot snow peas, for example) and some new....unique....species of plants that don't last long (cherry bombs, jalapenos, potato mines, etc.)
Also, with the release of Plants vs. Zombies 2, the show can jump the shark by adding time travel to the mix.
