I remember watching an episode of the Outer Limits where a woman invented a time machine and changed lots of events in her past: the consequence for her was that she remembered every time stream, which put an incredible strain on her brain and led to her going crazy and having an aneurysm, I wonder if the Tardis is having a similar problem?

Every time I've seen an Outer Limits it's been an alien story. For a long time I actually thought that's all they did.
Give me Twilight Zone any day.

Yes. Information overload basically

Although I think Outer Limits put in something about the memories/neurons from one timeline being superimposed onto those of another (in the same way that a phased object will intertwine with another object if it solidifies while passing through it) and it shorts the brain out, along with something else about different parts of the brain being slightly out of phase with each other too.
