      Every time I've seen an Outer Limits it's been an alien story. For a long time I actually thought that's all they did.

        Yes. Information overload basically

        Although I think Outer Limits put in something about the memories/neurons from one timeline being superimposed onto those of another (in the same way that a phased object will intertwine with another object if it solidifies while passing through it) and it shorts the brain out, along with something else about different parts of the brain being slightly out of phase with each other too.
