Id like an explanation as to how Missy is who she turned out to be, and I cant wait to see if whether or not we've seen the last of "Pinky" as a character, since I thought he was a pretty decent addition to the cast since Ive been watching the show (just under Rory as a companion & Coleman as a castmember, due only to her looks as "Clara" is rather annoying).......

Yeah, I heard that too. Capaldi has only just finished his first series and they're already thinking about the next fucking Doctor? And yeah, most people I know don't want it, but it pisses me off when people say "oh you're sexist". And TBH I don't think they did a good job with Missy, I found her really annoying, especially when they gave her a Scottish accent (why, what was the point?). She was good in part 1 but in part two I detested her. It was pretty much a publicity stunt and that's what's gonna happen with a female doctor. So from what I hear they changed the end of the Christmas special so that Clara could stay. This was supposed to be her last but she changed her mind and Moffat was like ok let's just tack on this last bit of crap, change what could have been a meaningful goodbye to oh wait just kidding.
I think that the new Doctor could really shine if we could just rid ourselves of Moffat.Comment

Just watched First Doctor series Planet of the Giants for the first time (got it as a gift on DVD a while ago). It was pretty good, but apparently the proper second half of it is missing and episodes three and four are really reconstructed from remaining parts of #3 and new audio.
Anyway, it was decent enough---the TARDIS malfunctions and when they rematerialize it's as bug-size. The concept had been done before in Sci-Fi and would be done many times more, but it makes for interesting set decoration and a nice break from alien stories. This is Susan's second to last adventure. When the leave it's set up immediately for The Dalek Invasion of Earth.

I heard today that if the 7th Doctor had continued they were planning on Ace becoming the first non Gallifreian to become a Timelord.
