I heard today that if the 7th Doctor had continued they were planning on Ace becoming the first non Gallifreian to become a Timelord.

Yeah, I've heard about this, the doctor was training Ace since he first picked her up, that explains why he pushed her to the limits in the Curse of Fenric and so forth.

Apparently he was also going to regenerate at the end of his fourth series and the cause would actually be mental stress by a physic villain or something. I really wish this was made as it could have been the most interesting regeneration story of the entire show, that said they also could have screwed it up, but I think it would have worked.

The showrunner also said there were plans to reveal a deeper DW mythology whereby he would be revealed to be one of the original three time lords (along with Omega and Rasilon) and hence many thousands of years old. I'm glad they didn't add that baggage.

I was watching Disney XD the other day and was floored when I saw a commercial for Doctor Who. Apparently they are going to show the Tenant era.
