They should have dropped Clara at the end of Last Christmas. That was the perfect out.

And River has been way too overexposed as it is. Making her companion now would be madness.

You're right Christmas would have been the perfect out for her.

I love River being in the new season but I don't think I would like her being the companion. I think her presence might overpower the Doctors. I think she works better as a once in a while character

I think that Moffat brought back Missy much too early. And it's more than obvious that the status quo concerning her and Clara will be undone by the end credits of episode two. The exciting question is, how?

Other random thoughts about the episode:

• For a moment, I thought that Idiot Mickey sent the message.
• The sun glasses and the puns were way too much.
• I'm more than ready for a new companion.

i thought this premier was great/strong and a lot better than past premiers and not just dr who either..........

i also heard this episode is a two parter and i believe there is another 2 parter later on in the season

Here's a question: why couldn't the Doctor have just taken little Davros and either made him a companion, instilling virtues in him that wouldn't allow for the creation of the Daleks or taken him to some loving adoptive parents on a peaceful world?

And before anyone says it, we know the creation of the Daleks is not considered an immutable point based off of "Genesis of the Daleks."

Yes, Davros was presumed dead, but he's been presumed dead before.
My guess is that his return will either be explained next week or they didn't want to bother connecting it.

A corpse? I thought he blew up or something. You know, I can't keep it straight anymore. I rarely watch the nuWho stuff more than once and I forget it when it rolls back to an earlier plot point. At any rate, Davros and the Daleks are time travelers, so who knows.

So let me get this straight. Davros couldn't find the Doctor anywhere but this guy was already a Dalekbot?
So does that mean they already knew where he was? Not to mention is Davros the only being ever to be named Davros? It could have been a different kid named Davros.

On a side note I would have liked to see this guy become the companion. And I still think the lady playing "Missy" would do better as the Rani.
