    • Just watched the Brig-heavy "Spearhead from Space" (the first 3rd Doctor and first Auton story). Good stuff.

      • Awww...... What a shame. He was just in The Sarah Jane Adventures in 2008 reprising his role too.

You go destroy those giant robots in heaven, Brigadier. Go get em.

            • Sad to hear about the Brig, I was quite looking forward to his rumoured appearance in the new series and Battlefield was rather comical for its look at a recently retired Brig jumping back into the uniform for one last jaunt (supposedly a tragic, blaze-of-glory ending for the character).

                  • Cool. The Daleks would totally make do with whatever resources they had.

                    • 1st look at Doctor Who's new outfit, Cybermen spoilers and more

There's a lot of stuff happening in the Doctor Who world today. For starters, we get our first peek at the 11th Doctor's new look, along with some set pics from episode 12. Plus we also have some juicy Cybermen spoilers and rumors, as well as a video.

                      Let's start with the costume.

For a while now, Doctor Who star Matt Smith has been teasing us that there would be changes and additions to his costume—and now we finally get our first look at the brand-new dark green coat he'll be wearing over his shirt and bow tie. Yes, the bow tie is staying put because, remember, bow ties are cool.

When you'll take a look at the set pics from the twelfth episode of Doctor Who's sixth series, which features returning guest star James Corden as Craig Owens, you'll notice the Doctor and Craig are in a store, with the Doctor holding a strange robotic gizmo with pinkish lights.

A spy on the set has reported that the Time Lord is actually working in that store, and that he has his own name badge. However they don't say if that badge says "Doctor" or "John Smith" (the alias he always uses).

Now back to that strange gizmo with the pinkish lights: Reports are that these are Cybermats. Cybermats are Cybermen creations that were used to infiltrate establishments, destroy equipments, spread deadly viruses and basically attack people. The Cybermat Matt Smith is holding has been redesigned the fit the new Cybermen look.
Cybermats first appeared in "Tomb of the Cybermen" and "The Wheel in Space" from the Patrick Troughton era (the Second Doctor). Their last appearance was in the Tom Baker story "Revenge of the Cybermen," and their return would mark the Cybermat's appearance in the new series, which was successfully rebooted in 2005 under former show runner Russell T. Davies.

We also have a major juicy rumor to share with you about the Cybermen and their nefarious plan against the Doctor. Please remember this is just a rumor and nothing's been confirmed yet, but this is what Doctor Who TV reports:

According to a new rumour, the conclusion of episode 7 will see the Cybermen trapping the Doctor and then escaping with him.

And how will they trap the Doctor? Apparently they will put the Time Lord on ice quite literally by freezing him in a block.

Episode 8 then takes place sometime after events of episode 7 and River, Amy and Rory are trying to find and free the Doctor.

This is a rumour remember, but it's certainly an intriguing one. Although, the plot of imprisoning the Doctor was already explored in The Pandorica Opens, of course.

So that means (if the rumors are true) that the Cybermen will probably be in at least three episodes of season six. Under the pen of Doctor Who show runner Steven Moffat (who's writing the Cybermen for the very first time with episodes 7 and 8), it'll be interesting to see what will happen, and how he will write the classic Doctor Who villains.

What do you think of all this? Do you like the new Doctor outfit? And how about those spoilers and rumors?

                        • Awesome. Thanks, ns2.
Funny, my LCS manager asked this morning if I knew what day the season premeired here.

I hope the cybermats are back and then we can get some collectible cybermat action!
