A Good Man...
|Highlight possible spoilers| - I'll come back in a week or so and un-black everything.
...Was Rory - frankly.
For all the Doctor's reputation, we are all aware he can be incredibly dark and manipulative and not just because that's the reputation RTD and Moffat have been building since 9 took over.
And Amy's speech |about the very old man who the people of Earth know as 'The Last Centurion'| was gorgeous. I was wondering how much he |remembered about his 2000 years of being Action-Man: Ancient Warrior|.
Angry Doctor - The Doctor has always been at his best and most inspired when he's emotional, especially angry, at least when he's not 3.
|Melody'| - That was a dead give-away especially once characters started talking |about the forest on the planet where Lorna came from - Lorna being the soldier who gave Amy the embroidered name-star(-thing)|. Remember TARDIS's last words? Clearly |the only Melody in the forest is the Song too|
With that said, I loved the misdirection from River and the Doctor |made over the cot when River finally tells him her name. While we were all geared up for her to tell us she was Melody, the view focussed on the Gallifreyan heiroglyphs on the side of the cot, I did think this was misdirection at that point and the characters were looking at the name-star but still, there was enough for me to wonder if it was in fact Susan (or possibly Susan's mother) after-all. Enough to be slightly disappointed that she was Melody all along.|
ETA: I'll also add that |stealing a child, removing it through time and bring it back to kill a relative has already been done - certainly it was the focus of the plot in Amalgam Comic's 'Bullets and Bracelets' which means it was probably a plot in either the Marvel or DC universe too at some point.|
I have watched very little DW before 7 and Ace's run - Should I assume that the Silurian and Sontaron were both characters that had appeared in earlier stories (I'm including the radio-plays and books too)? I do know that the Silurian isn't the one from the last series (no brown markings).
Very annoyed that the BBC have split the season though - what was the thinking there? The only thing that comes to mind is either:
1) The new season of Torchwood somehow links into the rest of this season's plot
2) It's been done to please American audiences who must absolutely have a break in the TV schedules every few weeks for no apparent reason > (c.f. Smallville, HIMYM, Fringe, House)
Oh, and what effect is that |Timelord DNA| having on River?
I think the least said about the next episode the better - great title but you have to wonder whyLast edited by chivalrous; 06-05-2011, 01:03 PM.Minimum space distance:

Something I've been puzzled over ever since the Pandorica event. How the frak did the Cyberman make it back to this universe after they were all sent to the Void with the Daleks? That hasn't been explained that I can see, and I own the entire new series up to series 5. Can anyone shed light on this?-Rational arguments are inherently highly ineffective against irrational beliefs.

1) Only things contaminated with 'Voidstuff' were sucked into the void, so the Cybermen created from the Torchwood employees at Canary Wharfe would not have been sucked into the void.
2) There were already Cybermen in existence in this universe, albeit of a different design, it's possible that the Lumic-Cybermen transmitted information about themselves to these Cybermen who made improvements to themselves.
The big question, for me, concerning Cybermen is how they turned up in Victorian London, the explanation is somewhat rushed and flimsy, something about them manageing to tear a small rift open from the void.Minimum space distance:

The Universe was remade via the Pandorica, perhjaps the Doctor inadvertantly created them?
Or since he's recently met the Cybermen of Pete's World, in the new universe they were remade in that image?
Anyways, Last Centurion was fucking badass
Saddest moment for me was when Strax died

I think it is stupid to have a break inbetween. Belive me American fans want to know what happens as bad as anyone. We don't need a mid season break.
And yeah, River needs her own show.Time,Space and Will Power

Is it possible that some more got displced in time? Or that the Daleks recruited them somehow?

Tomb of the Cybermen was set in the far future, given that there are oither human beings there with access to time travel but the Tomb itself is centuries or millennia old.
As for getting displaced in time, I'm not sure - the Pandorica would have put everything back in its original place it was a re-set button, rather than a re-boot button but they must have had some access to time travel in order to get there in the first place (unless Moffat et. al are just using a bit of artistic license and using Lumic type Cybermen rather than traditional)
They may have formed an alliance with the Daleks, it might be off the back of the Pandorica alliance but the Daleks are typically genocidal (can you have genocide if the subjects don't have genes... or rather a genotype?) and any alliance would only last as long as the Cybermen served their purpose.
Ultimately, I'm going to ignore the use of Lumic type as opposed to any of the earlier models and simply treat the type used as artistic license - unless the episode in question give a reason for why a particular type is being used.Minimum space distance:
