The 900 year old is still looking for Melody.

It would also keep in time of River's timeline being [almost] the reverse of the Doctor's in that the first time she meets consciously meets him, it's the 1100 year old (in Let's Kill Hitler).
I believe it is the 1100 year old one, as in tonight's ep he got the Cowboy hat he wore in the first ep(The Impossible Astronaut), and plus he nicked BLUE envelopes off Craig's fridge, I believe the same ones he gave to everyone in The Impossible Astronaut, but that's just me.

I'm thinking that if this is the 1100 year old Doctor, it could be him seeing his time finally run out.
For Whatever reason, my mother seems to think it was Rose he saw, but the sound of the Cloister Bell does add mystery to it. Me, I haven't actually thought about it all that much.

If it's guilt about a companion then it's most likely to be Adric,I don't remember another companion dyingwhile in the Doctor's 'service'.

      • So now you can not be a Cyberman if you really, really don't want to be one? Fuck you Moffat, at least Toberman only had metal arms and they hadn't sealed up his fucking head.

Agreed. It was a pretty simpering sentimental solution to this episode's problem (even if the Cybermen in question were possibly weakened by being cobbled together from scrap). The only things I can think of is
          1) Because they were trying to turn Craig into the Cyber Controller, he was tuned into the whole Cyber-network, which left the other Cybermen vulnerable to his emotional state.
          2) The Doctor previously transferred memories to Craig in The Lodger, could it be that a little bit more got transferred or that those memories gave some of the Doctor's "Incompatibility" (Incompatibility which was mentioned in this episode).

I know you like to be spoonfed the explanations , but it doesn't take too much thought to come up with one (albeit not canon)

Still, no worse than their previous (and also poorly explained) weakness to gold.

It was pretty obvious that it was the 1100 year old Doctor in Closing Time as he specified that he was about to go to his death. They basically were telling us that it was him.

But it is interesting to think that it was the 1100 year old Doctor in Let's Kill Hitler. I'd never thought of that.

And yeah, not Rose. That would be stupid. I'm going to say it's River. Or Himself (so the Valeyard or Dream Lord could work)

Just because there is an explanation doesn't mean that explanation is good. Also I hate James Corden's guts and can't even stand him in Gavin & Stacy which I liked.

As for gold yeah, that was stupid too but I don't mind a machine being fucked up if you throw bits of soft metal into it's ventilation system.

              • Well, he destroyed them because of the deeply ingrained hereditary human trait to protect ones own genes, which in turn triggered a... something...

If he transferred his memories we'd see another Doctor-Donna, meaning his mind would burn out. The only thing I can think is that since these Cybermen were second rate clapped out bangers, their tech wasn't working well and that Craig's will was strong enough with The Doctor there to tip the balance. Beside's, they went for his mind first, not his body since they had no parts

Craig's got one badass baby, Stormageddon needs to become a companion when he grows up

The teaser for the finale looked epic, it had better be as good as they made it out to be

                      • "You" could be plural. I was thinking the Time Lords in general (i.e., guilt over Gallifrey). Adric and Rose (to a lesser extent) did also pop to mind, though.

Not ALL of his memories. Just some of them.

*nod* Donna got all of his memories, as well as being physically altered by regeneration energy.
Craig just got a "general background", "specific detail" and (unintentionally) enough to be able to understand the scrambled transmissions between the Doctor and Amy.

                            • Wait, so if River knows the Doctor's future and all of his regenerations, but she kills the Eleventh, does she only know the Eleventh Doctor but she hasn't seen the future (if any) Doctors?
