No man! Donna was awesome! Not my first choice for assistant and she's not a very good looker, but she was funny and had a great character to her! The Ponds are boring, dull plain looking, and Rory is a bumbling idiot. I think I actually cheered when they "died".

    • I'd say Rose or Martha Jones were easily the worst of the New Who. Amy and Rory I quite like. Plus, Deadpool has poor taste, so there's that. The quality of writing is on average so much better since Moffat took over. Not that every episode is a home run, but at least there aren't as many "the Doctor is Jesus" bits or the Doctor saves the world through the power of people's faith. Everything they did with the Master was such utter crap except for the introductory episode with Derek Jacobi. The End of Time was an absolute turd.

      • The End of Time is my second favourite episode of all who.

Oh no, I like Martha and Rose (apart from Rose with Tennant. Rose with Eccleston was great, but with Tennant It was almost unbearable). How can you like Amy and Rory? Rory is a bumbling idiot, and that stupid "hi I'm an Auton who waited 1000 years outside a big box dressed as a Roman for my ginger wife to heal." thing really was one of the worst things ever. Amy is just so boring. And her Scottish accent was annoying.

Moffatt's quality of writing is horrible. I don't like all these stupid over done complicated plot twists.

Ok, I have to admit that the Doctor saving the world with people faith was too far, I think RTD couldn't think of anything else to do, I think it was done by the same hypnotising satellites the Master used to sort of hypnotise the world with. But the nd of Time was sheer fun.

I don't have poor taste do I????? Why does everyone think that?

You answered your own question. Here's a link that goes over everything wrong with the episode. While this reviewer often nitpicks more than I care for, I think she makes some excellent points here.

          • In the part where the Doctor asks Clara who gave her the number and she says that the woman in the shop did, who thinks it was River?

You know when she said it I was wondering but somehow forgot. Makes sense but could also be someone we haven't met.

                • Well, Blink's a classic. Human Nature and the Family of Blood were also great episodes. The Eleventh Hour was a fantastic introduction to Matt Smith's doctor. I personally enjoyed the Army of Darkness and Doomsday, but that has more to do with my liking of parallel universes than of the episode itself. The Doctor's Wife is a great episode.

Now don't get me wrong, while I generally prefer Moffat, I do see the faults in some of his scripts. He has a tendency to write stories that are overly convoluted, particularly in regards to his season long archs. There has also been quite a few RTD episodes I've enjoyed, but as a whole, Moffat > RTD.

                  • Having never watched an episode of Doctor Who, but being intrigued by all the love, and after reading that article about the worst episodes...I've already found one thing about Doctor Who that I love...

It looks like that every new doctor that was added was the producers trying harder and harder to make vaginas wet.

                    • Blink: Oh no, I hated Blink. The main problem with that one is THE DOCTOR'S NOT EVEN IN IT!!!!!! He only really has cameos in that episode. I hate all the episodes which barley have the doctor in them.
Human Nature/Family of Blood: HATE HATE HATE HATE! Annother story which does not really have the doctor in. It has David Tennant, just not the doctor. I found that episode frustrating. Didn't much care for it at all.
The Eleventh Hour: I'd say that's an average episode. Nothing special, nothing bad. I think they should have introduced him in a more dramatic way though.
Army of Ghosts/Doomsday: Actually I did like that one. A Cybermen Dalek crossover is a great idea.
The Doctors Wife: YUCK!!!!!! That's the worst one you've suggested!!!! Boring episode, thin plot, boring cast. The Ood in that so badly used. Not really any action in it at all, nothing that had me on the edge of my seat. It's such a dull episode, I can barley even remember t by now. I remember thinking "oh yes, the Ood are back! This will be a great one"! Then I remember after seeing the episode that it sucked and was one of the worst episodes I have ever seen. I have not dared to see it since like with numerous other Moffatt episodes.

I hate all these confusing overly convoluted plot twists Moffatt has. That's why I jumped for joy when I heard series 8 would be his last as head writer.

                        What the fuck?

Dude, just watch an episode. Tomorrow in the UK, the new episode will be on, I presume it will in the US too. I'd advise watching it, although I have little faith it will be that good. But really, I'd advise watching some of the famous episodes, both from the classic series and the 2005 revival. I think I posted a list of episodes you should see in the unpopular opinions thread.

                              1. I'm over 10 years older than you.

                              2. A good story that does not include much of the doctor is still far superior to a bad story that does.

                              3. Moffat didn't write the Doctor's Wife, Neil Gaiman did. If you hated that episode, than there are quite a few possibilities. a) You're too immature to appreciate it. b) You're an idiot. c) You have hopelessly poor taste.

                              I'm hoping it's "a."

                              • 1) That's why you should refer to me as "Explain yourself Younger Man"
                                2) I'll agree that Blink is better then stories like "The Twin Dilemma", "Attack of the Cybermen", "The Happiness Patrol", "Full Circle", and "New Earth", but Blink is the only mildly okay story without the doctor in it, and it wasn't that exciting really. A bit dull.
                                3) I'm aware of that, but the Doctors Wife is a Moffatt era story. At the end of the day he was responsible for it as he gave it the green light.
                                A) Maybe, but a friend agreed that it was a boring episode.
                                B) Ok, I'll give you that one.
                                C) Maybe that's what I think of everyone who likes that episode.

Can we just both agree to disagree and agree that we seem to like different things about doctor who and different styles?

BTW, why does everyone all of a sudden know my age?
