The showrunner also said there were plans to reveal a deeper DW mythology whereby he would be revealed to be one of the original three time lords (along with Omega and Rasilon) and hence many thousands of years old. I'm glad they didn't add that baggage.

Yeah, I've heard about this, the doctor was training Ace since he first picked her up, that explains why he pushed her to the limits in the Curse of Fenric and so forth.

Apparently he was also going to regenerate at the end of his fourth series and the cause would actually be mental stress by a physic villain or something. I really wish this was made as it could have been the most interesting regeneration story of the entire show, that said they also could have screwed it up, but I think it would have worked.

Has anyone listened to the Broken Sea audio dramas of Doctor Who? I have been listening and they are pretty good. http://brokensea.com/drwho/

Just watched First Doctor series Planet of the Giants for the first time (got it as a gift on DVD a while ago). It was pretty good, but apparently the proper second half of it is missing and episodes three and four are really reconstructed from remaining parts of #3 and new audio.

Anyway, it was decent enough---the TARDIS malfunctions and when they rematerialize it's as bug-size. The concept had been done before in Sci-Fi and would be done many times more, but it makes for interesting set decoration and a nice break from alien stories. This is Susan's second to last adventure. When the leave it's set up immediately for The Dalek Invasion of Earth.

It felt like that. It's okay. I kind of like cute little Clara.

TBH I've enjoyed series 8, if we've waded through three shit series of Moffat, we might as well wade through some alright ones too. my only real problem with series 8 was Kill the Moon and I wasn't overly keen on Missy in part two as she was really annoying.

I think that the new Doctor could really shine if we could just rid ourselves of Moffat.

Good point actually, I hope that's the case.

Yeah, I heard that too. Capaldi has only just finished his first series and they're already thinking about the next fucking Doctor? And yeah, most people I know don't want it, but it pisses me off when people say "oh you're sexist". And TBH I don't think they did a good job with Missy, I found her really annoying, especially when they gave her a Scottish accent (why, what was the point?). She was good in part 1 but in part two I detested her. It was pretty much a publicity stunt and that's what's gonna happen with a female doctor. I can tell if Moffat stays at the helm he's gonna rush through Capaldi's era to get to the next doctor, it's not fair on him.

    Yo.

Id like an explanation as to how Missy is who she turned out to be, and I cant wait to see if whether or not we've seen the last of "Pinky" as a character, since I thought he was a pretty decent addition to the cast since Ive been watching the show (just under Rory as a companion & Coleman as a castmember, due only to her looks as "Clara" is rather annoying).......
