  • What do you do with comics you don't care about?

Today as I was cleaning out my room, I realized one of my comics had something sticky on it. I was pretty pissed until I found out that it was the Free Comic Book Day comic I got. So I figured I would tear off the back cover.

This led me to start cutting out panels and decorating my apartment with them. It was a lot of fun. I kind of wished that I could tear through some of the comics I really like so I could put them on my walls.

I look through them, and the kid friendly ones I donate them to hospitals. The others I just give them to used book stores.

Yeah, I'm still uncertain what that sticky stuff was.

I give them to my younger brother where they meet their vile demise.
If I'm not here, you'll probably find me at one of these:

At the risk of sounding arrogant...I have been donating my comic books to organizations to send to soldiers over seas.

I heard that two boxes of comic books I did not care about were met with a great deal of appreciation.

In fact, part of me wondered if it was worth starting a "comic book donation" group. Basically, instead of destroying your comic books, would you donate them to whatever the group would be and they would send them on to libraries, children's hospitals, to soldiers and so on.

Most of mine get donated to either St. Jude's Children Hospital or the local rehabilitation center. There have been times when the comics were not in decent shape, so those got recycled or simply thrown out with the trash. There are recycle bins not too far away from where we live. Once every month or so, we haul a load of newspapers, magazines, plastic, glass, and cans to those bins. We don't get any money from the stuff, so we're only doing it to help cut back on waste, and go green. I can't take credit for the recycling thing though. The wife got me started on it, so t'was her idea.

If you're referring to free/promo comics, I toss those out. As far as books I paid for, mine go into the Long box coffin never to be seen again.
