At least she actually DID something during the two years Shepard was out of action. And her biotics made her more valuable in-game than the other squadmates.

Maybe it's just that fact that clingy, revenge-driven Liara is the image that sticks with me, but I never got what was so great about the character.

All of which implies that she was a bad parent. But it proves not even that, much less that she killed the kid. Now I do think that it's possible, even likely that she did it. But unless we can prove it beyond the shadow of a doubt, we've got to assume that she's innocent. An innocent moron, but innocent nonetheless.
