  • Where does Captain America go?

So Iggy and I were having an argument earlier over the Marvel Movie Universe.

We agree on this order of viewing

    Iron Man
    The Incredible Hulk
    Iron Man 2
The last scene of The Incredible Hulk
    Thor

Here's what we don't agree on:

Should you watch Captain America before Iron Man or after Thor?

We agree that it obviously happens first, but what is the proper WATCHING order?
    14
    First (before Iron Man)
    28.57%
    4
    Last (after Thor)
    71.43%
    10

Because of the ending, you should watch it last.

I'd say last since Thor established the Cosmic Cube. So, you watch Thor and see the Cube, go: "The Hell's That?" Then Cap's movie tells ya. That's how I'm gonna do it when I put together a watching party.

Actually, Cap's movie establishes the cosmic cube.
The ending of Thor sets up Loki as the Avengers villain.

That's what I meant. Thor's movie teases the Cube, especially with its after credits scene, then Cap's movie establishes it and has the Avengers scenes after credits. To me it flows better, I'd set em up like this:

                  Iron Man
                  The Incredible Hulk
                  Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant
                  Iron Man 2
                  Thor
                  Captain America

There's that debatable/fan-reaching "oh that was Thor in the lightning storm that was pissin' off Hulk" part, but that could've been anything.

The post credits scene of Captain America really should not count since it's o really a teaser

                          It should be

                          Captain America (Sets up everything)
                          Iron Man

                            Blade comes before all others!

Ok, I'll seriously bite on this subject.

                            Thor
                            Avengers

Honestly, it really doesn't matter when Captain America is viewed. There are two aspects of the movie, which we know of right now, that truly matter in terms of defining the Marvel universe going into the Avengers. The cosmic cube and Cap waking up in the modern era. Therefore, it really can be watched in between any of the movies. The only argument really that could be made is that CA should be viewed before Thor, as the end-credits of Thor sets up what the cosmic cube is being used for in the modern era, and who's going to be after it.

All Cap did is show us what the cube is capable of, so in that case it really doesn't matter when it's viewed. But, if you want to have the cube explained before finding out who wants it and where it is then watch it anytime before Thor. Or right before it if you want to have it fresh in your memory.

                              Cap (well, most of it)
                              Iron Man
Then you play Iron Man 2 and Incredible Hulk on two televisions at the same time, to the point where the footage of Hulk vs Abomination from Hulk synchs up with the news report in Iron Man 2.
