This thread existed before the more recent post. And the original packages were made by nerds not racist militia.

The other night I was sitting outside, having some beers and some cigars, thinking about the possibility of a zombie attack. I hate to say it, but if I was forced indoors, with nothing but the tools at my disposal until I could escape, I think I would be fucked. . .

Yeah, I'm resolved that in some mass extinction-level zombie scenario I'm dead. Nobody would look at me and say "yeah, he'll be in the top 2% that make it."

However, I do feel prepared for an attack by a single vampire or werewolf since I have silver, garlic, holy water, and crosses easily available.

I need to make me a stake.

Don't sweat it Mav...For bunkering up, if you have access to some hammer and nails, you're set. Take the doors off your bedrooms, and use those to fortify windows. Meanwhile, for weapons the best weapon you can have in a zombie apocalypse would be a crowbar or a tire tool. Guns would be nice, but ammo reserves would be a bother to deal with and the sound would most likely attract more zombies. So keep your weapons simple.

The nice thing about a crowbar is it doesn't degrade and it doubles for a utility tool, like prying open windows and doors or bashing through walls in a situation where you needed to take flight.

With a little creativity I bet you're better prepared for the Zombie Apocalypse then you think.

Food stocks would last maybe a week, and I don't have any building materials to re-enforce my doors. I have a tenant downstairs so we could team up, but overall I'd be pretty fucked if most of my neighbors were already zombies. I have a car, but then I thought about gas, and since everything these days is "pay before you pump" I'd have to get lucky and be able to get into a gas station and activate the pumps before I could fuel up.

Then I thought about weapons, and guns, and realized there is nothing near me I could access minus the Police Station. IT would probably be heavily armed, and if I could even get there (about 5 mins running full on) I would have to get in before getting shot by the cops.

Even if dealing with "slow zombies" I'd have a hell of a time surviving very long with my current situation. It was somewhat scary to think about, then I realized it will never happen, so I'm good.

But if it did...I think I'd be in bad shape.
