no, I got that, but the diff here is simply a matter of personal taste
No its not personal taste, if you're basing a movie off an already existing source, if Bay decides he wants to put Terminators in place of Transformers that would be not be ok, if he wanted to turn Transformers into a a romantic comedy, I doubt that would fly either.

Maybe RE started out with it loosely keeping to its source, but now its totally pass that point.

    OR leave it alone entirely
Yeap and that's what I have done, I haven't watched the last two RE movies and have no desire to watch this new one, it will be the same bullshit as the other movies anyway, setting it self up for another shitty sequel in 2 years.

Like I said I'm more interested in World War Z.

and no, thats not me being argumentative OR facetious just for the sake of it.
Hey man your words not mine.

    it BECAME a popular film
Finally you agree yes the same reason Inception and the first Matrix became popular because they were good movies, that just happened to be sci-fi.

Avatar did cause the boom in 3D, but the difference is that most of those movies after it are shit with or without 3D or pretty effects, if enough people think the movie sucks, it will bomb.

this can also be applied to TDK & Ledger; if that dude *hadnt* accidentally offed himself, do U think the movie wouldve done anywhere near as well?
    Absolutely.

Its a Batman movie done by a some what decent director, the return of the joker character to the big screen, the movie turned out to be great and it became a massive hit.

I doubt if Ryan Reynolds was to pass, that GL would have become a massive hit, because the movie itself is still trash.

We shall see because Ledger aint got nothing to do with TDKR, if that bombs or does shit, then you might be onto something, I dont see that happening though.

Anyway I think we are boring people who just want to read about Prometheus, we will have to agree we disagree about RE.

hey, maybe those ppl have an over-inflated expectancy of wat a summer movie is supposed to cost? or, maybe MiB3 is just as cheap-lookin' as they accuse it of being? /shrug

no, I got that, but the diff here is simply a matter of personal taste, much like how a good number of ppl here were pissed off on how Bay did TFs; once U get past "theyre not doing *this*, and they aint doing *THAT*......" its perfectly fine to just let go and either enjoy the movie for wat it IS doing (regardless of yur wants/likes) OR leave it alone entirely. in both cases, I choose the former even tho I shared others thoughts of "wat could have been......"

yea, U'd lose that bet; yur talking to a guy who grew up watching a man run in slo-mo with the implied thought that he was being FOOKIN' AWESOME in super-speed, so if U give me a bangable, somewat cute, psuedo-redhead doing the same........but SHOOTING things? all I can say is:

yea, the anime came out a some time after the movie hit dvd; I think its sales overseas were good or something........

I believe the rest, after all I know a certain poster who would love to live on an alien planet.
it BECAME a popular film, becuz it had really good visuals & well-done 3d (which is the reason U now have all of these fucking up-conversions for films now, which only expand the background, but enable theatre houses to charge an extra $6 or so for watch a movie that does less than 1/2 the effort.

same thing happened w/Inception (and the Matrix, for that matter) with its ending: 6 out of 80 ppl leaving the film couldnt figure the shit out, and somehow word spread that causing other to go see it & then questioning reality as they saw it.

the VAST majority didnt go see it cuz it was a good scifi film, but becuz some schmoe had their heads blown away by a concept and a great majority went "I want that TOO!!!" this can also be applied to TDK & Ledger; if that dude *hadnt* accidentally offed himself, do U think the movie wouldve done anywhere near as well?

I'd believe all that if they didn't essentially give Alien a high five as their lasting impression before you left the cinema, I'm not sure they should be proud that they could possibly be the ones for finally killing off the Alien franchise once and for all, Resurrection is probably laughing in the background.

I was glad it was. The worst thing would have been to just do Alien again. This film had some good ideas, it's just too bad some of them failed in the execution. At the same time I hope this puts a nail in Lineloff's coffin. Can't be bothered with his lazy bullshit.

David had a purpose, the only thing I get from her is she likes to bark orders and that you probably dont want to be too close to her when shes burning marshmellows around a camp fire.
as for Shaw running about in the ejected life-pod, we did see her gathering supplies but she never removed her suit, only the helmet. and nothing of wat sshe grabbed looked like an xtra tank of oxygen, so........... /shrug

    Space Jesus
    Christian Philosophy
    Ancient Astronaut theories
    Lovecraft
    Cosmic Horror

I would pick out parts where these apply in the movie (like the obvious intro) but theirs far too many, so I'll just say the entire movie.

That's before we get started on the plot holes, now I want this in by tomorrow or you fail class Mr Tazer! :P
