no, I got that, but the diff here is simply a matter of personal taste
Maybe RE started out with it loosely keeping to its source, but now its totally pass that point.
OR leave it alone entirely
Like I said I'm more interested in World War Z.
and no, thats not me being argumentative OR facetious just for the sake of it.
it BECAME a popular film
Avatar did cause the boom in 3D, but the difference is that most of those movies after it are shit with or without 3D or pretty effects, if enough people think the movie sucks, it will bomb.
this can also be applied to TDK & Ledger; if that dude *hadnt* accidentally offed himself, do U think the movie wouldve done anywhere near as well?
Its a Batman movie done by a some what decent director, the return of the joker character to the big screen, the movie turned out to be great and it became a massive hit.
I doubt if Ryan Reynolds was to pass, that GL would have become a massive hit, because the movie itself is still trash.
We shall see because Ledger aint got nothing to do with TDKR, if that bombs or does shit, then you might be onto something, I dont see that happening though.
Anyway I think we are boring people who just want to read about Prometheus, we will have to agree we disagree about RE.

Originally posted by Frank Castle View PostPlus you missed my point totally, I'm a RE fan so seeing it being bastardrized is not nice at all, the stories from the games are kind of cheesy but they're more fun, CVX story is like a really good fun B-movie.

Halo The Movie; Staring Milla in skimpy clothing shooting in slow motion = great Halo movie.
Skyrim the movie; Staring Milla in skimpy clothing shooting in slow motion = great Skyrim movie.
Street Fighter the movie; Staring Milla in skimpy clothing shooting in slow motion = great Street Fighter movie.
The Walking Dead movie; Staring Milla in skimpy clothing shooting in slow motion = great TWD movie.
Some how I think not, if she wants to make a softcore B movie I'm all for it, just dont take a franchise and turn it into something its not.

Originally posted by Frank Castle View PostI never heard of it tbh, the film reminded of that animation on MTV years ago, which also had a movie made after it, I forgot the name though.
Originally posted by Frank Castle View PostThey went to see it because it was a popular film and had a massive buzz around it, regardless of that the movie is still a sci-fi, the reboot of Star Trek did well from what I remember and that is as hardcore sci-fi as you can get, people like a good movie, if its sci-fi and good people will watch it.
I believe the rest, after all I know a certain poster who would love to live on an alien planet.
same thing happened w/Inception (and the Matrix, for that matter) with its ending: 6 out of 80 ppl leaving the film couldnt figure the shit out, and somehow word spread that causing other to go see it & then questioning reality as they saw it.
the VAST majority didnt go see it cuz it was a good scifi film, but becuz some schmoe had their heads blown away by a concept and a great majority went "I want that TOO!!!" this can also be applied to TDK & Ledger; if that dude *hadnt* accidentally offed himself, do U think the movie wouldve done anywhere near as well?

of course, I'll now *bask* in the glow of Jovovovo-wateverhernameis as shes doing retarded flips in the air & killing zombies all while Im chowing down on my popcorn and thinking "*heh!*, 'ol Frankie boy is missing out on some good cheesy fun......the loon."
so wait: bangable chick in skimpy clothing + shooting zombies while doing slo-mo bike-flips inna air = bAd MoViE somehow?? YEEESH!!
yur too conservative a film go-er for me comrade; I try not to take my fantastic movies about the impossible THAT seriously........

Originally posted by Frank Castle View PostPrometheus is too grand for its own good and more likely things flew over peoples (casual cinema goers) head, and it doest even do its own QnA very well, I doubt they left thinking ahh yeah that was Space Jesus.
Whats obvious to you is not so obvious to others, we could use our resident alien expert on these boards as an example, you know.... that guy
Originally posted by Frank Castle View PostJokes aside that will be too bad if we dont get a sequel, the whole point of Prometheus was to explain all the questions from Alien, I dont feel we got that and they even admit its two movies away from reaching that point, maybe someone will do it in comic/video game from or something.

but look at it this way: Im sure theres some of our other GL-brothers on here that will give out a "help out" if U need to keep thing on the down low.........
Originally posted by Frank Castle View PostYou also over estimate the average viewer, these are the same people on mass who are continually funding RE with more and more movies, one day people will ask how we ended up with 8-10 RE movies, and nobody will know, just like Prometheus.
All I can say is the reviews of people speak for themselves.
Originally posted by Frank Castle View PostAs for the running out of air, I assume (because thats what this movie makes you do) that she got some resupply pack on the pod thing where the squid was, I think... I vaguely remember her grabbing some stuff, might be wrong, or its just something that happened off screen.
Also since David was a total fibber for the entire movie, he probably had some extra spacesuit or air hidden somewhere.
I'm just making up shit because I really dont know, theirs also the idea that Charlie Theron was actually a robot, theirs some decent reasons for this, but again the movie doesn't make it clear, and if she was a robot what was her purpose? David had a purpose, the only thing I get from her is she likes to bark orders and that you probably dont want to be too close to her when shes burning marshmellows around a camp fire.

well, I always hated school so U might as well gimmee that F now........
as for the rest, all I can say is that while that stuff *could be found there* if ya looked, its not really necessary to do so NOR does it make the movie "un-graspable" for the average viewer afaic.
personally, I just want somebody to tell me how da fuck she managed to make it back to the android w/only 30secs of air left..........

Christian Philosophy
Ancient Astronaut theories
Lovecraft
Cosmic Horror
I would pick out parts where these apply in the movie (like the obvious intro) but theirs far too many, so I'll just say the entire movie.
That's before we get started on the plot holes, now I want this in by tomorrow or you fail class Mr Tazer! :PLast edited by Frank Castle; 06-16-2012, 02:13 PM.
