Naw man, scientists fuck with the genome all the time. Some fuckers in Germany made dogs that glow in the dark a few years ago.

But I was under the impression that they always START with a complete genome, then REPLACE a sequence or two (or more). I was unaware of any ability to construct a genome from the ground up using bits taken from different sources. They don't actually know what everything in the genome even does, so figured they need to have a complete set to start, and only fiddle with a little bit at a time, otherwise the chances of whatever they came up with being viable would be really low.

I suppose they might START with the genome of some kind of lizard or something, and then experiment with replacing bits of it with any Dinosaur DNA they somehow managed to acquire.
