Meh I stand by my point, unless you're on a cell phone typing 'ne' instead of 'any', 'ur' instead of 'your', and '2' instead of 'to' is lazy.

Leet speak will never be banned it started (and still exists as a) vile shorthand. It blossomed into something far more elaborate, but it serves as a clear indicator of the quality of thought of the person conveying their message.

Simply put so what I've been doing since I was twelve in 1995. Ignore people incapable of typing in clear English with proper punctuation.

I would like to point out I am fairly drunk and I just got home from the bar and I was still able to type this fairly coherent post. People who type in leet are lazy and worthy of scorn or outright nonrecognition, but trying to 'ban' them is just foolish.
Very well said. I also have been consuming alcohol, and other substances, and yet I remain able to type properly.

However, "people who type in leet are lazy" aren't they simply taking shortcuts, similar to what I just did? Missed it? "are not" = "aren't". Isn't doing things faster more efficient, and thus smarter?

I think it's safe to say, we are not Leet.

You claim to be able to type coherently?

"Leet speak will never be banned it started (and still exists as a) vile shorthand. "

    Should have read:

"Leet speak will never be banned it started (and still exists) as a vile shorthand."

    What you said was:

"Leet speak will never be banned it started vile shorthand."

While that may look alright, I believe it is an incomplete sentence.

    Nice try Nivvy, nice try.

BTW I'm totally screwing around right now...must be the booze

I guess I actually voted wrong. If someone where to come on here and type everything like that, I would be pissed. Once in a while is alright tho, such as the occasional:

    Oh noes!!11!!!!11!!!oneone11!!1

Anagrams are okay in moderation, but 1337speak is pathetic.
Anyone who uses it should be slapped for blatant stupidity.
