Adam West, TV's Batman dead at 88.

OMG, he had the perfect voice for Batman and I love how much he was willing to parody himself later. RIP!

      • Adam West was a good guy. And I much preferred his Batman to Frank Miller's version.

        • Wife just broke the news to me while I was in line at McDonalds. This just ruined my day....

Totally watching the Batman movie from that era later tonight.

          • First Wallace, now Batman? Bummer. Well, at least both lived to a pretty respectable age.

              • I met Adam West at a convention about 10 years ago. Decent guy, and a fixed part of my childhood....when I would get up in the morning to eat breakfast, I watched Batman every morning.

To the bat cave, Mr. West.....

                • Gonna really suck with him around to lighten things. He was such a great actor, really left his mark on mankind.

Batman 66 is still far and away my favorite of the movies.

I missed a local convention he was at (I might have been out of town or maybe just out of money). Now, I'm even more sorry about that.

I was thinking that, but I'm so super familiar with the movie that I think I'll go with some old episodes and/or the animated movie from last year.

I did see it once, on the day it came out. I'm about ready to watch it again. It was great to hear the original voices, but it was also neat that they did stuff they couldn't have possibly afforded in '66 like the zero-G fight. I definitely recommend it to fans of the original show. It's not quite the same, but it was a nice nostalgia trip.

Right this minute I'm watching the Shame (the evil cowboy) episode.

Yeah, and it works well as a tribute to the original too.

I'm assuming the first Shame episode with Cliff Robertson. They did make a sequel to that episode, though it's from the third season so it's not as great.

Correct. I only saw there was another episode when I IMDb'ed it.

Season 3 was weaker on story in general, but I had a bit of a crush on Yvonne Craig's (who sadly passed herself a couple years ago) Batgirl as a kid (even though the show was done 10 years before I was born) and she was only in that season.

                              • A very sad day indeed. Adam West was just beloved by fans. He got to live a good long life, but it's sad to think we no longer have him around to make us smile.
