For some reason I thought he had passed a while ago. Supposedly this guy was such a tough that he had a bodyguard whose primary mission was to stop Sonny from fighting other people!

Billy is my favorite character in Predator. If he had had the fortune of falling in the mud instead of Dutch, he probably would've killed the pred in half the time.

The studio's insurance company would not agree to insure the production, unless a bodyguard was hired for Sonny Landham (Billy) for the sole purpose of protecting people from Sonny. The bodyguard followed Sonny around everywhere, to ensure that Sonny didn't get into a fight, since he was well known to be a very violent, and short tempered, actor.

That is so eerie coming two weeks after I listened to the projection booth's podcast of The Bellboy, wow.

I'm a fan of his first four films as a director (The Bellboy, The Ladies Man, The Ladies Man & The Nutty Professor), as well some of his movies with Martin, and even with all of the poor comedies he did later, he gave some terrific later day performances in films like The King of Comedy. He may have been a bit annoying to some, but he was a great physical comedian. RIP!
