Someone pulled that trick on Sylvester Stallone, who of course is well-heeled enough to take anyone to court for as long as he need to. It shows the incredible audacity of these people, besides their dishonesty.

BTW, that's one of the oldest tricks in the book. Never sign an agreement like that. Instead demand a percentage of the gross, which they can't lie about.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Supreme Court justice, trailblazing feminist, and the closest thing to a folk hero the high court has ever seen, has died at the age of 87. The Supreme Court announced that she died Friday due to complications from metastatic pancreas cancer.
In a statement dictated to her granddaughter just days before her death, Ginsburg said, “My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”
Ugh this is horrible news. Not just because a great judge died, but also because voting rights are screwed for a generation.

It would be horrible if it gets delayed (which it probably will) and Biden gets his pick.Last edited by Space Cop; 09-19-2020, 02:54 AM.

She was over 80 years old when Obama was president. Why didn't she resign and let him pick her successor?
I'll tell you why not. It's because many people who hold public office think it's all about them, and will hang on until they're rolled out on a gurney.

Oh man, RBG's seat is finally up to refill. Thank god! I'm all for waiting until after the election since Scalia passing in February of an election year caused the same thing to happen. Either way, Trump is going to win reelection and will get this 3rd nominee for the court, and oh man this is going to be great. 4 more years of a Trump administration? An excellent chance that Breyer will also need to be replaced. This will be the best thing that's happened to the supreme court in our lifetime.

When Regis Philbin quit his daytime show, some people accused him of leaving because he disliked Kelly Ripa. But he said that wasn't true. He said he quit because he was 80 years old. Then he got to enjoy a few years of retirement before he died, and the show went on just fine without him.
When it gets to the point that someone 80 years old has to explain the "real reason" why he retired, something in a society has gone haywire. Unless you're self-employed, you shouldn't work longer than that. Get off the stage please.
