Matthew Mindler, a student at Millersville University in Pennsylvania and a former child actor, was found dead near the campus, the university confirmed Saturday.

Mindler, a first-year student at Millersville, was reported missing late Wednesday night after he didn’t come back to his room or return calls from his family, police said. He was last seen walking from his residence hall, West Villages, toward a parking lot area around 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officials say the search started on Thursday. University police and law enforcement from the area assisted with the search.

        Ugh, just tragic.

Ed Asner, legendary actor, activist and philanthropist, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, surrounded by family. He was 91.

Asner, former president of the Screen Actors Guild, is best known for his role as Lou Grant on both The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spinoff Lou Grant, pulling off the extremely rare feet of playing the same character in both a comedy and a drama series.

He is the most awarded male performer in Emmy history with seven wins — five of them for playing Lou Grant. He also received the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2001.

Asner’s long list of credits also include the movies Elf, one of several movies in which he played Santa Claus, and Pixar’s Oscar-winning Up, in which he voiced the lead, Carl Fredricksen. His most recent major roles included acs on several Emmy-nominated comedy series, Cobra Kai, playing Johnny Lawrence’s step-father Sid Weinberg, Grace and Frankie and Dead To Me.

          • ^I always liked Asner.

He did a lot of voice acting in his later years. He was even Granny Goodness in Justice League Unlimited.

It'll be a little sad watching the new "Dug Days" series of shorts coming up on Disney+ knowing that Carl Fredricksen has left us. Still, 91 isn't bad, and he was clearly still working pretty close to the end.

I don’t think Keith is as old as most people assume he is. He’s 77. But, yeah, it is kind of amazing that he and say Ozzy (72) are still around with the lives they’ve led.

And to this day, Richards still smokes. Whatever that guy has done to keep himself alive has to be magic of some sort because he should have rightfully kicked the bucket back on the Steel Wheels tour. Don't get me wrong; I'm not wishing him death, I'm more amazed/perplexed that he outlived his own drummer, who by all accounts, lived a relatively healthy life style and winds up dead from cancer. Must be God's weird sense of humor.

As far as Ozzy goes, it's my personal opinion that I don't see him lasting much longer. Sharon does most of the talking for him now, and his Alzhimers (sp) is getting bad. The last time I saw him speaking was right after Eddie Van Halen passed away, and during the interview, Sharon did 95% of the talking. Ozzy was so out of it, I mean even by his own standards, I don't think the man knew what was going on at all. He said a few words, slurred to the point I barely understood him, and then they cut straight to Gene Simmons interview.

Former NFL wide receiver David Patten, who won three Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots, died Thursday at the age of 47.

Sam Gordon, who had Patten as a client in his management firm, confirmed Patten's death to ESPN's Mike Reiss, saying he died in South Carolina. No other details were immediately available.

"We are all very heartbroken," said Gordon, who added that he had spoken with Patten's wife Friday morning. "He was a man of God. He had his own ministry. He loved New England very much."

Patten played for five teams over a 12-year NFL career but is best known for his four seasons with the Patriots from 2001 to 2004. He caught the only offensive touchdown for the Patriots during their first Super Bowl win, in the 2001 season against the Rams, hauling in a 8-yard pass from Tom Brady to give New England a 14-3 lead just before halftime.

Joan Washington, a veteran dialect and voice coach and the wife of Oscar nominee Richard E. Grant, died Wednesday. Grant posted the news on social media Friday morning but did not provide details.

“ONLY YOU Joan – Love of my Life & Giver of Life to our daughter Olivia,” Grant wrote in a tweet that includes a video of the couple dancing and smiling (see it below). “Our hearts are broken with the loss of your life last night. 35 years married and 38 together. To be truly known and seen by you is your immeasurable gift. Do not forget us, sweet Monkee-mine.”

Washington began her career working as a dialect coach on Barbra Streisand’s 1983 movie Yentl.
