Jessica Klein, an award-winning television writer and producer who was a key contributor for six seasons on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” died of pancreatic cancer at her home in Beverly Hills on July 13. She was 66 years old.

Klein’s death was confirmed by her daughter, Shira Rose, who shared that her mother died “fulfilled, surrounded by her biggest fans, her family.”

After moving to Los Angeles in the late 1970s, Klein married Steve Wasserman, her writing partner. The duo collaborated as writers and executive producers on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” launching Klein’s career in prime time.

Klein collaborated on “Just Deal,” Sk8″ and “Scout’s Safari” with Tommy Lynch, her creative partner after Wasserman’s death in 1998. Other notable credits include “Northern Exposure,” “Mancuso,” “FBI,” “Gabriel’s Fire,” “As the World Turns” and “Secret Central.”

Singer and former Pop Idol contestant Darius Campbell has died at the age of 41.

A statement from his family released on Tuesday afternoon said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darius Campbell Danesh.

“Darius was found unresponsive in bed in his apartment room in Rochester, Minnesota, on August 11 and was pronounced dead in the afternoon by the local medical examiners’ office.

“The local police department have confirmed that there were no signs of intent or suspicious circumstances. The cause of his sudden death is unknown at this stage while medical examinations continue.

“We ask that you kindly respect our wishes for privacy at this time whilst we come to terms with the tragic loss of our son and brother.”

Wolfgang Petersen, the German director whose films include The Perfect Storm, Air Force One and Das Boot, has died. He was 81. Petersen died peacefully Friday at his Brentwood residence from pancreatic cancer, in the arms of his wife of 50 years, Maria Antoinette.

The actor and singer Eva-Maria Hagen, one of communist East Germany's biggest stars before being banned from her profession, has passed away. She leaves behind some renowned descendants.Eva-Maria Hagen, who was described as "the Brigitte Bardot" of East Germany (GDR) because of her striking blonde hair and sex appeal, died on Tuesday, aged 87, a family representative said on Friday.

The actor and singer was the mother of well-known punk singer Nina Hagen and the grandmother of Cosma Shiva Hagen, a popular German actor in her own right.

"Eva-Maria Hagen left the earthly plane and has preceded us in going to the eternal home," the management of Nina Hagen said in a statement sent to the AFP news agency. "We are mourning, full of longing, love and gratitude."

It was after his role in the former that Vitali struck up a friendship with Kubrick, and earned a “personal assistant to director” credit on his 1980 Stephen King adaptation of The Shining.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Jerry Allison, who played to screaming crowds as a teenager as a member of the seminal 1950s rock band Buddy Holly and the Crickets and co-wrote some of their biggest hits, died Monday at age 82.

Allison’s writing contributions included co-penning “That’ll Be the Day” and “Peggy Sue.” He said he also co-wrote “Not Fade Away” with Holly but went uncredited, due to the producer allegedly switching his own name in instead.

A cause of death was not immediately available for Lazzarus, whose real name was Diane Luckey. Pixar animator Ralph Eggleston, best known as the director of the short film For the Birds, has passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 56 years old. In addition to his Academy Award for For the Birds, Eggleston was an Annie Award winner as art director on the original Toy Story, and would go on to be an artist, animator, and art director on numerous Pixar films including Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, Wall-E, and Inside Out. Before his time at Pixar, he was an art director for Ferngully: The Last Rainforest, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Pocahontas. His final credited work was on 2020's Soul.

Eggleston was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1956. He would begin his career-defining relationship with Pixar in 1992, and had a hand in nearly every project at the animation studio from then until 2020. Prior his time with Disney and Pixar, Eggleston worked at Warner Brothers and Amblin/Universal TV, giving him an impressive resume that includes working on Scooby-Doo and Rugrats in addition to his impressive work at Disney.

"He was a unique talent and a beautiful soul," said writer and director Roger Gould, who worked with Eggleston at Pixar. "We're all better for having known him."

Charlbi Dean, a young, up-and-coming South African actor who most recently starred in this year’s Palme d’Or winner “Triangle of Sadness,” died Monday in New York from an unexpected illness, Variety has confirmed. She was 32.

Dean also appeared in the DC Comics series “Black Lightning” on the CW. She played the highly skilled assassin Syonide across nine episodes and two seasons.

She made her acting debut in the South African film “Spud” in 2010 and returned in the 2013 sequel, “Spud 2: The Madness Continues.”

The man behind some of Disney's biggest theme park spectaculars and stage productions has passed away. Disney Legend Ron Logan was 84 years old.

Ron was named a Disney Legend in 2007 for his career producing theatrical productions for The Walt Disney Company. He retired from Disney in 2001 as Executive Vice President, Executive Producer, for Walt Disney Entertainment, after serving as Vice President of Creative Show Development for Walt Disney Attractions, as well as Director of Entertainment at Disneyland, and Music Director and then Vice President of Entertainment at Walt Disney World.

Barbara Ehrenreich, the author, activist and self-described “myth buster” who in such notable works as “Nickel and Dimed” and “Bait and Switch" challenged conventional thinking about class, religion and the very idea of an American dream, has died at age 81.

Ehrenreich died Thursday morning in Alexandria, Virginia, according to her son, the author and journalist Ben Ehrenreich. She had recently suffered a stroke.

“She was, she made clear, ready to go,” Ben Ehrenreich tweeted Friday. “She was never much for thoughts and prayers, but you can honor her memory by loving one another, and by fighting like hell.”

She was born Barbara Alexander in Butte, Montana, and raised in a household of union supporters, where family rules included “never cross a picket line and never vote Republican.” She studied physics as an undergraduate at Reed College, and received a PhD in immunology at Rockefeller University. Starting in the 1970s, she worked as a teacher and researchers and became increasingly active in the feminist movement, from writing pamphlets to appearing at conferences around the country. She also co-wrote a book on student activism, “Long March, Short Spring,” with her then-husband, John Ehrenreich.

Friends and family are mourning the loss of 21-year-old Tanya Pardazi, a Canadian TikTok influencer who died this week. Pardazi died in a skydiving accident at Skydive Toronto the evening of August 27. According to a public statement shared by the organization, Parzai was a "welcomed recent addition to the skydiving community." Skydive Toronto said in a statement that they are working with local police. The South Simcoe Police said in a public statement that Pardazi was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Her friend Melody Ozgoli confirmed Pardazi’s passing and the manner of her death in an emailed statement to TODAY. “She was the smartest girl with the brightest mind,” Ozgoli told TODAY. “We all remember her not just for her mesmerizing beauty but for her incredible mind and insight.”
