I love the first RAW post Mania. Its the start of a new year of wrestling. Cesaro's about to get a super push into the main event and now we'll see how WWE creative writes a face champion that isn't Cena or Orton. Its easy to write Punk when he's touting about being the best. But who does Daniel Bryan feud with now? You have to go back to Orton and HHH first. Then what? Then Cesaro? Kane? Mark Henry? We'll probably see Cena vs Bryan at Mania next year.
I think it'll be Lesnar vs Bryan at Summerslam and Lesnar will win

Probably should see the writing on the wall there Mr. Gunn.

Pretty sure Bryan will feud with Bray Wyatt after his rematches with Orton, since Orton was never pinned.

        • Having the Undertaker lose to a part-time retread like Lesnar was stupid. He should have lost to a young guy and out him over.

True, I would've picked Roman Reigns or Bray Wyatt.

But if Taker is cool with it then so am I.

            • I really don't think that there's any up and comer on the roster deserving of ending it. Reigns is just another spearing wrestler with a superman punch.

It makes Brock back into a monster for when he eventually goes after the belt.

True, but wwe needs new stars. That would've been a good opportunity to boost someone. Just like Cena losing to Bray would've help him but it didn't happen.

But unless Brock becomes full time it really doesn't do much for him. Not sure when his contract is up.

                • He's got another year, he resigned for 2 after last years mania.

It reestablishes Brock and gives him some better legitimacy after losing to cena, and hhh twice I think. Beating cm punk wasn't going to do it so it had to be big and like you said taker signed off on it.

That's a common fallacy. Vince McMahon himself believes it. You can't turn someone into a monster, then dethrone him, then turn him into a monster again.

They turned the Big Show into a joke by dressing him as a leprechaun, then tried a dozen times to make him a monster again, but it never worked.

There are many examples of people who have failed as retread monsters, including Mark Henry, Vader, Khali and so on.

Lesnar will never be the monster that he once was, no matter what, and on top of that he's liable to walk away from the company. And a young guy becomes "worthy" of beating the Undertaker by beating him, not by proving beforehand that he should beat him.

They got the 1-2-3 Kid, aka X-Pac, over by having him shockingly defeat Razor Ramon. That's the kind of thing that wrestling has forgotten how to do.

The fact that the Undertaker was cool with it means nothing. They made the same mistake with Ric Flair in his last match. Flair handpicked Shawn Michaels to lose to, but Michaels was almost ready to retire himself. Flair should have lost to a young guy too.

                      • Mark henry has become more popular and "dangerous" in the last 3-4 years than he ever was in his first ten. Kane's been "dethroned" as a monster like 5 times and when he goes heel as the big red monster it works every time. This authority version is different because he's just being portrayed as a corporate lackey.

Three or four years? A guy is a monster right away and he stays one, or he loses his aura. And no, like Mark Henry, Kane doesn't have nearly the impact he once did. The Undertaker was the only guy who really kept that monster aura. It's not hard to let a guy stay that way. The damned writers just won't do it. But anyway you can have only so many monsters. No more than three, probably.

                          • Undertaker lost his monster status when he became the american bad ass. Then regained it when he went back to the dead man gimmick so yes you can reclaim it.

                            • No he was still seen as a monster doing that time. I always thought so at least.

That's right. He was still stomping everyone.

I don't think there'll ever be anyone like that again. Just like there won't be a tag team that stays together for years or a wrestler who holds a belt for years. Vince has too short an attention span to allow anything like that now.
