I don't think hostess will die here because im sure someone will buy it. My bets on Little Debbie.

EDIT: my local hostess/bread shop has been picked to the bone. They expect to be closing tomorrow. The guy there said he has been working there for 25 years and could have retired in only 3 more years. Also I have in my 24years of living never tried a Twinkie.....

Why do you think the Friday after Thanksgiving is called Black Friday? It's the first day of the year that retail giants earn money, rest of the year they are on credit/loans.

            Not entirely correct.

The day's name originated in Philadelphia, where it originally was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic which would occur on the day after Thanksgiving. [4][5] Use of the term started before 1961 and began to see broader use outside Philadelphia around 1975. Later an alternative explanation began to be offered: that "Black Friday" indicates the point at which retailers begin to turn a profit, or are "in the black".

I thought it honored the comedian and star of Kung Fu Panda. My mistake.

Eh, here in the greater Philadelphia area we have Tastykake, which I find vastly superior to Hostess.

Especially Candycakes (with peanut butter filling).

These things are so popular here that there are businesses solely based around sending them to Philly emigrants across the country (along with even more local Taylor Ham/Pork Roll).

Depends on the product. The coffee cakes are super dry. But I'm mostly about the candy cakes (which are better refrigerated). I don't like Twinkies and the Hostess products I do like I can easily live without.

I see Tastykake is available in 21 states now so there's probably a lot of you that can get them. In the tri-state (PA, NY, NJ) area, though, they dominate. Every supermarket, 7-11 et al has a wide selection of them and in many places you'd have a harder time (not at all impossible) getting Hostess or Drake because the locals all prefer Tastykake.

I haven't had their coffee cake, all coffee cakes are dry in my experience I assume that is done to absorb coffee when dunked.

I have had their Krimpet, Kandy Kake, Iced Honey Bun, and Apple Pie.

Those plus regular Honey Buns and other pie flavors are the only ones my stores sell individually. All sucked except the Apple Pie which imo was exactly like Little Debbie's Apple Pie except smaller, with the price being the same as Little Debbie's Apple Pie it is a more expensive product so I would just get Little Debbie's instead.

I have only had other brands version of the Twinkee same for other Hostess products they are cheaper those I can always get.

The Twinkee name and recipe may a Mexican import in the near future, saw an article, didn't read because I couldn't care.

They're lush as hell. Go for it, I'm British and had to pay £15 for a box of about 10, still did it though. that's how good they are. I prefered the chocolate filling personaly, I doubt that'll survive even if the regular twinkies do

They look great! We don't have that psrt of stuff in the UK, the best we have to that is jaffa cakes

I've had ennougth of the UK, we eat dull shit while the US gets tasty and exotic snacks. Now I really fancy a candycake, but I know I can't get one
