  • 84-year-old's date with teen twins turns into nightmare

Yeah, because someone that old should even try dating twins less than a quarter of their age. Idiot.

Yeah, but it's funny that the girl doesn't even get that it was wrong to steal $420. She wonders why she was reported!

why is he an idiot? legally he did nothing wrong, the girl put herself out there as wanting a sugar daddy (which implies the type of relationship she was expecting to enter with him), from the looks of it neither girl was forced to do something she didnt want to do (theres nothing wrong w/ASKING, as long as thats as far as it goes), and it looks like he was only expecting the 1 girl, not both.

goofing on him for wanting a young chic to do stuff with is just another case of slut shaming (or should we call it "cock shaming"?)......

bearing in mind, I do think it's funny as hell.

IIRC part of the backstory for the Scooby Gang, which we never saw becuz the shows producers didnt want to focus on it, was that Fred & Daphne were an item; if U pay attention to how things worked out during the course of any given season (from ANY decade) of the show, U'll note that they *usually* ended up paired together (and mostly NOT due to coincidence).

conversely, alot of the "Fred is gay" -talk stems simply from him wearing that ascot.
          :/

Growing up on the good old Hanna Barbera toons, I always assumed Fred and Daphne were together. Can't explain why, it was just the vibe they gave off. And maybe sometimes Velma would fool around with Shaggy.

'zactly. and *thats* becuz even tho there was never anything really OVERT about their inter-personal relationships amongst themselves, simply watching who fell back onto whom for support/protection says a whole lot....which was the point.

Kinney Glasson Jr, from Oklahoma, is said to have been "crazy in love" with the dancer, who is in prison on unrelated charges, and killed his wife so he could be with her when she got out.

A lovestruck man allegedly shot his wife and the mother of his daughter so he could run away with a stripper.

Kinney Glasson Jr, from Oklahoma, is said to have been "crazy in love" with the dancer, who is in prison on unrelated charges, and killed his wife so he could be with her when she got out.

Police say the besotted 33-year-old gunned down Erin Glasson, 41, on November 19, during what he claimed was a home invasion by a burglar.

He told officers he had mistakenly shot her while fighting with an intruder in the couple's bedroom.

Glasson was arrested on Monday and charged with first degree murder, which means his five-year-old daughter is now without both parents.

The amorous gunman met the stripper, 24-year-old Reva Ann Smith, at an Oklahoma nightclub in June.

He introduced himself as an FBI agent and even flashed her a badge.

When interviewed by detectives he admitted the affair but said "he intended to end the relationship".

But a relative of Smith told the Oklahoman newspaper it was the other way round.

"They were making plans for the future," said Cindy Norton of Glasson's "crazy in love" relationship with Smith.

The stripper told authorities she expected Glasson to be divorced by the time she got out of prison.

In letters allegedly written by him and produced by Smith while behind bars, the then married father said his divorce would be final in January and that he was raising money to bail her out.
Marla Golden, a relative of Smith's, said to the Oklahoman: "He told me that he was going through a divorce and that he hoped that him and Reva would make a good life together."

                "It's crazy. She's devastated."

Not only was Glasson not an FBI agent, but there are no records that he filed for divorce.

                  • Hard to describe what this news can be categorized as, but I'll try:

Rupert Murdoch defends "Exodus" cast being white

I read an article by Bob Chipman on The Escapist site before the film came out, and he detailed how, given its location and the very long history of cultural mixing, ancient Egypt is incredibly difficult to depict.

His argument, which really makes sense if you think about it, is that you can't assume ancient Egyptians all looked like modern Egyptians. This is because of ethnic homogeneity.

In other words, ancient Japanese people and modern Japanese people look pretty much the same because they don't mingle with other ethnicities/races (modern Japan is 98% ethnically homogenous, FYI).

In contrast, ancient Egypt, being invaded out the ass, being right on the northeast corner of Africa and the edge of the Middle East, and pretty damn close to Europe, saw a helluva lotta mixture (both violent and peaceful) that created a fairly steady exchange of people as much as ideas.

Ridley Scott said he needed a white male lead for star power, I'm told, and Bale has loads of it. Maybe that is so, but in today's world, people want a more diverse cast rather than forced whiteness that Hollywood has been known for over generations. Ancient Egypt is a place that actually serves this desire pretty well.

I'm gonna stop there before this all goes to Qward (and I need to kill more Necromorphs).

                    • About 100 brains missing from University of Texas

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The University of Texas at Austin is missing about 100 brains — about half of the specimens the university had in a collection of brains preserved in jars of formaldehyde.

One of the missing brains is believed to have belonged to clock tower sniper Charles Whitman.

"We think somebody may have taken the brains, but we don't know at all for sure," psychology Professor Tim Schallert, co-curator of the collection, told the Austin American-Statesman.

His co-curator, psychology Professor Lawrence Cormack, said, "It's entirely possible word got around among undergraduates and people started swiping them for living rooms or Halloween pranks."

The Austin State Hospital had transferred the brains to the university about 28 years ago under a "temporary possession" agreement. Schallert said his psychology lab had room for only 100 brains, so the rest were moved to the basement of the university's Animal Resources Center.

"They are no longer in the basement," Cormack said.

The university said in a statement that it will investigate "the circumstances surrounding this collection since it came here nearly 30 years ago" and that it's "committed to treating the brain specimens with respect." It says the remaining brain specimens on campus are used "as a teaching tool and carefully curated by faculty."

The university's agreement with the hospital required the school to remove any data that might identify the person from whom the brain came. However, Schallert said Whitman's brain likely was part of the collection.

"It would make sense it would be in this group. We can't find that brain," he said.

Whitman's 1966 rampage at the University of Texas killed 16 people, including his mother and wife.

The 100 remaining brains at the school have been moved to the Norman Hackerman Building, where they are being scanned with high-resolution resonance imaging equipment, Cormack said.

"These MRI images will be both useful teaching and research tools. It keeps the brains intact," he told the newspaper.
