You know something? I think I've cracked the case of IonFan. Basically we are dealing with a guy who has a five year old mentality. Generally speaking, all of us here are intelligent people who wouldn't even think along the lines of IF, and that is the catch right there- you know why he acts stupid and comes up with these silly threads? He wants attention like any five year old would. He knows that if he posts something completely ridiculous like his experiences with a hooker, people are going to react, whether they ridicule him or try to help him or whatever. It's all attention.

I'm willing to bet that if everyone on this board started ignoring him completely (any thread, any post) he would eventually go away because the deficit of attention would force him to move on to some other forum to start the same shit again.

That being said, I think he's just too much fun.

To be fair, that's a pretty safe bet. I'd go away if everybody started ignoring me completely. That actually seems like the SANE reaction to being ignored completely, at least in the context of a message board. If that was happening at work or at home, maybe a different response might be called for, but on a message board? I'd have more questions about the person that stuck around despite being completely ignored by everybody than I would about the person who left under those circumstances.

Are you saying that you WOULD actually stick around if everybody here totally ignored YOU?

I'd like to think that most of you guys like having me around because, like most of you, I don't behave like IF. Specifically in regards to you and I, I realize we have had our differences in the past, and hopefully we are past that, but if you were all to start ignoring me completely, no, I don't think I would stick around much. That being said, I'm not an attention whore. But I do like interacting with you all.

I think there are some pretty decent people on this board, which is why I stick around. It's not about being a GL fan for me anymore (since I quit the title when Geoff Johns did); it's about being around good people. Agent Purple, Space Cop, Sylent, BDD, Fearless, Johnny, you, MyuserID, Godmera, Mad Dragon, and many more that I cannot think of at that moment- you are all decent people to me and I very much like discussing stuff with you all. But if you all came to a consensus that you wanted me gone, I would leave.
