i am that guy i don't watch a ton of movies

The problem for me is I don't like sports and I don't really watch TV (I keep up with The Simpsons on Hulu and I watch Doctor Who). With movies though, I watch all kinds so if someone says they like baseball movies or war movies or are a big fan of Denzel Washington, I can talk about something with them. When they say they don't really like movies, I have to revert to classic literature. If they're not readers, I may as well walk away.

But I guess the reason I think that way is that I'm still in love with movies. You ever watch a documentary about film or filmmakers where they talk about the magic of movies and the wonder of sitting in a dark theater and having a new adventure? At 33, I'm still that guy. So, when people have a "meh" attitude about film they're fundamentally different than me.

I know the feeling. The funny thing is I can always make conversation with people based on the kind of movies they like since I watch all kinds. But what really bursts my bubble is when someone tells me "I don't really watch movies." What can I say then but "Goodbye" and "You're no fun anymore."
