Society crumbles as Google admits "Literally" now means "Figuratively"

I'm all for the flexibility of language. Modern pronunciations don't bother me, I think many common grammatical errors should be added to the rulebook, and I fully support letting words' meanings change over time. That said, there's something kind of heartbreaking about Google's new "expanded" definition of "literally."

Yes, the Google Dictionary now says "literally" means literally and figuratively, two things that are completely opposite. That... that seems like it's going to be problematic. Also, I find it kind of obnoxious that Google would give this second definition to the word before admitting its far more common pronunciation is "lit'rally." It's literally driving me crazy!
I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. No one takes them all that seriously and they get bored with them after about 10 minutes.

I warned everybody back in the early 90's when we had to pay for aol by the minute to "not be too proud of this technological terror we created". Looks like Vader is gonna have to force choke a bitch.

Yeah, Google is not to blame for this. For that matter, neither is the OED. Stupid people, that kept using it that way so often that it became common usage, are.

Right. IIRC, "ain't" is in the OED. It's not their fault. They're responding to an actual change in the language.

Someone should literally learn how to use all of the letters on their keyboard and hold down shift when using the number button to make a symbol.
