I disagree with their analysis of American involvement. (1) It's more popular opinion than any actual statement from the government or anyone official that "we won the war"; (2) American action was decisive in the battle and before April of 1917 neither Britain nor France were close to declaring victory. This is still debated among historians but several (and not just jingoist Americans) are leaning toward the view that America turned the tide.Originally posted by Agent Purple View Post

The British crown had seen a world war on the horizon for years before the turn of the century and had tried to make alliances (mostly through marriage) to forestall or lessen the effects.Comment
