I don't say that lightly, as each would probably come in as one of my 10 favorite movies ever.

I'm going to see it again at some point this weekend to see if my initial love of the film really stands. I haven't had that much fun at the movies in years.
Saw it again tonight. Still loved it.

Responding to JohnnyV's comment in Last Film v6 about "uncrafted" Infinity Gems (though I'm going to detail important things about the Gems anyway):

          1) They were originally called the Soul Gems. All of them, in spite of the fact that only ONE had soul-based powers.

          2) Thanos changed the name to Infinity Gems

          3) The entire time they were smooth little gemstones, just like any smoothed-down jewel adorning jewelry. Last I saw, they still were

          4) You can't "cut" or "fashion" them. They're indestructible. They can't even destroy or harm themselves; you can only "meddle" with them, such as using the Power Gem to affect another Gem's power level or use the Space Gem to teleport the other Gems here or there.

          5) The literal "Infinity Gauntlet" is just Thanos's glove. He only put the Gems on it, he didn't specially alter it in any way to hold them.

          6) Ordinary people can hold or even use the Gems with few negative side effects. Drax swallowed and carried around the Power Gem before Thor took it from him, and in that same arc, Moondragon had the Mind Gem on her forehead for some time and used it easily. The Collector held the Reality Gem with no harm to himself, and had experimented on it to discern its purpose for a long time before Thanos asked for it. I've only seen one negative side effect, and that was one of the Gems (I think it was Mind) attempting to possess Adam Warlock (pretty sure it was him, read it ages ago).

Like I said, it's a minor gripe, much like the Cosmic Cube becoming the Tesseract. But the "aren't cut yet" argument doesn't hold much water, even if Marvel/Disney decide to fiddle with that a bit down the road.

Which they possibly could. I wasn't making the argument based on comic book continuity/history, but what I saw from the movie. In the movie, it seemed like no one had much of a clue about the infinity stones besides The Collector and Thanos/Ronan.

And points 3) and 4) are kind of mutually exclusive to one another. You can't have gems without them being able to be cut and molded. Unless you mean they had at one time been molded and can't be further molded now.

What I took from the movie is that the stones had never really been meddled with by anyone, and that Thanos was going to craft them into the gems later on and put them in his gauntlet. Which of course is much different than the comics, but it's not like they haven't switched things up like this before.

The comic history of the Gems is that they came into existence as remnants of the being that existed before creation. When he ended himself, the Gems were left. They have, to my knowledge, always appeared as "cut/shaped" jewels, that's just how it's always been.

I have serious doubts that Marvel/Disney will make it so that they can be affected physically by anything. If that were the case, then the Stone that Ronan had would be been seriously damaged or outright destroyed upon suffering a near-direct shot from Rocket's cannon.

Most likely it will be made so that the Stones can be reshaped by thought/will into smoother forms so as to "look prettier" and thereby be slightly renamed to the Infinity Gems. It would be much like Thanos renaming them from the Soul Gems.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Has Highest Combined Approval Rating Of Critics And Audiences Of Any Marvel Studios Film Ever On Rotten Tomatoes

When the first reviews surfaced for Guardians of the Galaxy, the film held a rare 100% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. As more reviews have been posted, Guardians of the Galaxy’s critic approval rating has dropped somewhat as would be expected.

However, after 189 reviews, Guardians of the Galaxy still has a 93% approval rating from critics, which is tied for first among Marvel Studios movies and ahead of The Avengers on Rotten Tomatoes. The Avengers has a 92% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while the original Iron Man has a 93% critic approval rating just like Guardians of the Galaxy.

So how do you break the tie between Guardians of the Galaxy and Iron Man? Besides critic ratings, Rotten Tomatoes also has a liked it rating from audiences. Guardians of the Galaxy currently has a 96% liked it rating among audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, which is the highest ever for a Marvel Studios film.

In comparison, The Avengers has a 91% liked it rating, and Iron Man also has a 91% liked it rating. Other than Guardians of the Galaxy, the highest audience liked it rating on Rotten Tomatoes for a Marvel Studios film is actually Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which has a 93% liked it rating.

When taking both the critic and audience reviews into account, Guardians of the Galaxy appears to be the most liked Marvel Studios film ever on Rotten Tomatoes.

tell that to Jonathan Hickman; he had most of them self-destruct (for no apparent reason) in v2 of NA while being used by Cap to stop a uniersal incursion, and the last 1 to survive (the Time Gem) has been breaking itself over & over in Avengers.
