I went shopping with my parents and got a haircut. Rather depressing actually.Originally posted by IonFan(even if the ear sucking helped get me off faster)Originally posted by Big Daddy CaesarIf I had things like the internet and a laptop as a kid, I never would have left my room as a teenager.Originally posted by QuakerI am the Geoff Johns of the GLCMB.

I'm heading out the door now, on my way to The Somerville Theatre in Mass to watch a 7 film horror marathon, all in glorious 35mm!

Had a great time! The 35mm print of The Thing was in beautiful condition, and had no scratches or defects that I could see. It as awesome seeing it on the big screen, which I've never been able to pull off until now. I was 8 years old in 1982 when The Thing came out and I've seen the film dozens of times on TV, VHS, DVD and bluray.
I've fallen in love with this particular theater since finding it. It was built in 1914 and they had their 100th anniversary this year by celebrating with a lot of classic movies. It's been renovated and they keep the main theater in excellent condition. For classic movies the manager comes out onstage and introduces the film by saying a few words to the audience about it. Then they pull back old fashioned curtains and play the movies. Very old school, very cool.
Add to that, there was some kind of annual music festival in the streets of Somerville this weekend. There were bands playing every few blocks in alleys, corners and parks and there were thousands of people of all ages walking the streets celebrating, many of them in costumes. Kind of like their own little mardi gras.
