  • Fantastic Four A Darth_Andrea Review Be Afraid ..

We went and saw the new "Fantastic Four" today .. my gawd that was a waste of time and money. Both to watch and to make. Horrible lazy ass movie .. green screen effects were terribly done. Acting was phoned in, and the plot .. Jesus H. Christ .. I have never in my life sat through a movie that was this just .. Stupid .. Seriously.. plot wise Battlefield Earth has better structure ..

This movie took a halfway decent plot from the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic then ate it, shat it out, then ate it again, then delivered that pile of crap to us on a shinny plate.

And Kate Mara as Susan Storm might as well not have even been in the bloody thing. I have not seen a movie in the last 20 years other than 50 shades of grey that had a more dis-empowered totally maligned female lead. She was disinterested and uninteresting all around.

Her dialogue was delivered in a manner I would expect a store clerk to say "Is there anything else we can get you today" ... Jumping Jeremiah Jack Rabbits on a Pogo Stick this has me pissed. Susan is THE first Lady of Marvel's First Family .. And they do this bullshit to her .. Fuck Fox, Fuck the Producers, Fuck the Actors, Fuck The Director, And Fuck Anyone who claims it's a good movie because their either stupid or lying.

I know people are going to be all like "Well At Least Michael B. Jordan Was Good In It" Bullshit there only saying it because he's black and their afraid to be called racists. He's a good actor hell I'll go as far as saying he's a Great Actor .. But in this .. No.. He was shit. Again Phoned in performance and lines delivered like it was a first reading of the script. Not one of the actors on screen are believable or credible in their parts. The entire movie makes no sense and has no merit for even existing. This was, much like the Roger Corman FF movie, solely for Rights holding, good, bad, indifferent Fox didn't care as long as it was on screen with the name.

Final Verdict .. I give it a score of KILL IT WITH FIRE ... FUCK THIS MOVIE .. FUCK IT ...

.....So, I'm going to ask the obvious- what was your take on Doom?

What Doom .. there was no Doom there was a guy with metal skin and some completely unexplained reason for even being there in the first place with unexplained psychic powers and again, a UNEXPLAINED, Reason for wanting to destroy the world .. Battlefield Earth has a better antagonists .. and that is one of the most gawd awful movies I have ever seen in my entire fucking life.

The unexplained stuff was a set-up for all the sequels that won't follow.

So now the FF will get a FOURTH origin movie...

          Hmmm...that does not bode well.

The movie is now in the Facebook feed, and most opinions are negative based. This is unfortunate.

I am SO happy this movie appears to be as bad as we heard t was going to be. The quicker it flops, the faster the rights can revert to Marvel so t can be done right for the first time.

I don't think they can get away with telling the origin of the FF a FOURTH time, after three fuck-ups. They're just going to have to pick it up a little down the road and tell the Galactus/Silver Surfer the right way.

I would agree. But that would be okay with me. I like grey-templed, married Mr. Fantastic and adding the kids is even more fun.

A little OT, but what do you think about the gray-tempeled Hal? Or does he need to be 16 years old like Reed?

I said in another thread that I saw a long interview with the movie's director/writer, and he seems like the kind of guy who could impress studio executives in a pitch session but without having a clue as to what to do with the property after they had handed it over to him to make a movie with. He kept breathlessly telling stuff that any actual fan of the FF knows and would find tedious to hear for the zillionth time, but that a lot rookies would get engrossed in.

Aged characters never bothered me. I liked experienced, elder statesman Hal. I'm kind of tired of Supes, Bats, and everyone else being so young and all unattached.

That would be much better than having yet another FF movie done by anyone other than Marvel.

I don't want Hal to ever go grey again in the comics. He should always be around 30. Late 20s for an origin story.

It's wonderful to know that Disgruntled Apple Employee Victor Domashev won't be making a return to theaters in all likelihood.
