No it's not .. Put it this way, Superman IV The Quest For Peace is only Sightly .. SLIGHTLY better than this ass Fantastic Four movie.. Roger Corman's FF Movie is Better. The Toxic Avenger Porn Parody Is Better .. DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS MOVIE ...

Pass? That's putting it mildly. Fans should be boycotting this movie. I'm talking anybody that I can out of seeing it.

With all due respect, my awesome producer, one must formulate their own opinion if they are wise. That means seeing the movie. Then if they agree with the mass feeling of resentment, they can join your boycott.

Hopefully within the next week, I will be seeing the movie so I can make my own decision.

...so does boycotting a movie based on mass opinion when an individual hasn't exercised his or her right to judge for themselves. One needs to do their due diligence if they want to be credible.

Unless it was a good friend like yourself who understands what I look for in film that recommended me either nay or yay, I don't put much stock into a nation of zombies who can't think for themselves.

I'm still open minded about this, but I have lowered my expectations. Basically, I just want to see this for Doom (SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!!); however, I'm not expecting him to be written as he should be IMHO, nor am I expecting an Avengers-level movie.

Now I want to see this. Originally, I had no plans of watching this as it looked like a DTV, but after reading several glowing reviews, I just may check this out... so I can laugh my arse off. It sounds like a comedy!

From the reviews and video reviews I've witnessed, this film is boring. The origin story takes too long, there isn't any chemistry between the characters, there aren't any action beats and third act is just a hot mess and the film just ends.

I said in another thread that I saw a long interview with the movie's director/writer, and he seems like the kind of guy who could impress studio executives in a pitch session but without having a clue as to what to do with the property after they had handed it over to him to make a movie with. He kept breathlessly telling stuff that any actual fan of the FF knows and would find tedious to hear for the zillionth time, but that a lot rookies would get engrossed in.

I was listening to Kevin Smith four part interview with Josh Trank (only up to part 3; part four to be released next week), and Part 3 of the interview Trank does sound very impressive when describing his vision for Fantastic Four. Part 4 of the interview should be about the production and issues of the film.

Ryan Reynolds GL is somewhat better but suffers from many of the same problems. Up to and including, Studio screwing with the script and cut, bad direction on set, producers arguing with the director ON SET about changes they wanted. Also a huge lack of character development and motivation.

After the 1st half hour I started getting lost as to the basic 4 W's. Who, What, Where, Why. Locations aren't developed for placement. Characters lines come across as being generic enough any of the cast could deliver them in any scene. Character motivation (a huge part of any story) is completely absent. The FF is Marvel's first family. In this movie they had a real chance to actually do a story about the meaning of family. Hell Susan is adopted .. they could have ran with that idea on how the TEAM forms a extended family after the incident. But beyond saying Susan is adopted the idea of Family disappears from the movie all together.

There are only 2 major action sequences in the whole movie and most of those scenes have already been shown in the trailers. So See them and you have seen the least annoying parts of the movie. At least in my opinion. Also it should be noted a lot of the scenes in the trailers, especially where Ben is shown are either fully cut from the final print or they are in the background of shots on screens .. The shot of Ben being air dropped from a stealth is cut from the movie entirely for example.

I think there was a much better movie in this. But all the studio fingers in the mixer spoiled the doe. It's only a hour and 40 minutes long give or take, and no there is no after or mid credits scene. Fox claimed this was their jumping on point of building their own cinematic universe based on the Marvel properties they had .. and its is a 100% failure.
