Yes, I laughed at this. And a few weeks ago I came very close to doing exactly what the guy in blue did. Thankfully I ended up just chasing a moron out of an establishment because he was berating an employee about a mask.
But hitting someone like this is potentially catastrophic. If this fool's head had hit the floor, he could have been seriously injured or killed. Everyone needs to remember that.

I've seen a comedy sketch where a guy tries to steal a guy's manual transmission car, and the guy whose car it is teaches him how to drive it. There's this whole montage with them sort of bonding over the experience like a Dad teaching his son. This is happening because unvaccinated people pushed their luck and held gatherings over Halloween. Look for a much bigger surge to occur about two weeks after Thanksgiving, an even bigger one about two weeks after Christmas, and the coup de grace about two weeks after New Years.
It'll start dying down at about the end of January. Plenty of people will have "died down" by then too.

Before I became self-employed I noticed that people in workplaces would tend to feel gravely offended if anyone declined to join in their entertainments. One time I told some people that I didn't want to take part in their potluck, and they acted like I had hunted down their mothers just so I could slap their faces. They were appalled and offended.
Incidents like the one in this story don't surprise me, but they confound me. If someone in your office wants you to leave him alone, why is that so hard to do? Why would you go right ahead and stage a birthday party for him anyway after he's specifically asked you not to? At best you're telling him that he's a fucking idiot and that you're going to prove it with all the fun you'll force him to have.
