Right, gotcha. I've never seen the second, but own the first and third series on DVD; it's just been a while since I watched them. The 200X show was really great and it's a pity they didn't have more seasons to it. IIRC, they were supposed to go right into a Hordak saga after the Snake Men War.

Yep, there was some commentary tracks on that and they shared that they had a bunch of plans (I think even some scripts) for season three when it got canned. Having watched all that show, some of the origins and backstory (say like the creation of Too-Bad) that aren't explained in the original now inform how I think of those characters.

Ok, so I kinda went on an unexpected mini shopping spree tonight. The comics, Megatron Pez, Captain Phasma/Rey figures are for me. I bought the crocodile because REASONS (see horror thread), the 40:1 mix is for my weed whacker, the whacker string is for my uncle because we were on a job with my equipment, I ran out of string, he gave me his, and I used it up. I like to pay back favors and debts. I got yet another pair of gloves because, even though I already have 15 pairs floating around here somewhere, I can never find them when I need them.
And of course the Ivory soap is for me. Best stuff out there.

I didn't even know they existed until I caught it out of the corner of my eye when I was in the checkout lane. And of course, being Megatron, I needed it.Originally posted by Space Cop View PostI gotta get some Transformer Pez. I think I saw Bubblebee once, but I don't have any of them.
Badly.

There are things I like in it (for instance, Miyagi takes the girl to a Buddhist monastery for training, which is such a classic martial arts movie thing to do), but I'd have to say that in terms of quality it's about on the same level as KK3, maybe even a step below (certainly below 1 and 2). It really rehashes quite a bit of 1 with a girl now being the target of karate bullies and needing training.Originally posted by Mister Ed View PostWas "The Next Karate Kid" any good? Part III was so bad I never even tried to watch that one.
The thing I hated most about KK3 was splitting up Daniel and Kumiko with some dumb throw-away line. Typical studio crap of giving the young man a new girlfriend every movie despite setting up each one as his one-true-love. I think having her adjust to life in America (especially in a Western metropolis like LA) would've added a cool element to it.
I watched all four KK movies about a year ago and just re-watched #1 recently, so I think I'm just going to watch #2 for now.Last edited by Space Cop; 05-27-2016, 03:07 AM.
