Officials in McIntosh County say someone cruelly abandoned a mama dog and her four pups. But there appears to be a happy ending for the furry family.

I'm putting this here becuz by the looks of it this man did everything as BY THE BOOK as was required, but state authorities _could not_ let that stand....so they called in the feds: https://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rap...udge-says.html

            • ^Yeah, I've heard of that kind of thing. That's what happens when state and federal laws don't gel. Essentially the feds are just overlooking the "legal" sellers in general, but every now and then they make an example I guess as a reminder. It won't be truly legal until it's federally approved.

                    • Ha, ha. These are the folks who smugly lecture everyone at the shows where they hand each other awards, then wonder why the ratings of those shows keep dropping.

The pandemic should have ended in the United States in March. You know why it didn't, don't you? Think about that every time you put on a mask.

                          • This is truly a charming group of folks. I noticed that they're selling meth now. They used to sell heroin, and were known to many of their non-fans as the "Heroin Brotherhood." Maybe their pipelines for heroin have been cut off.

this isn't so much OUTRAGEOUS, inasmuch as it is PRETTY MESSED UP....but I thought it worth the share anyways: https://www.news.com.au/travel/trave...1998d9045ba372

                              • I think having such a stringent weight requirement is extremely dumb, but given that they have it at all, it makes sense that being over by ANY amount would be grounds for dismissal. Otherwise, why not just make the cutoff a little bit higher? I think that focusing on how close she was to the cutoff (as the article seems to do) misses the point of the outrage. The outrage isn't that they let her go when she was so close, the outrage is that they have such a stringent policy at all.
