The swastika was originaly used in the Hindu religion until the nazis turned it into a symbol of hate. If i remember correctly in hindi it means sun or good day or good fortune. Thats the issue with symbols anyone can hijack them make it mean something else.

Same for the pink triangle from ww2 where it was used to identify gays. The gay community adopted it and made it mean something possitive. I wish people would do the same for the confederate flag. Confederates are dead have that flag rebirthed into a new symbol instead of saying it means hate or slavery
