If what Trump did is so illegal then prosecute him in a federal court which has the benefit of not relying on a political vote and still bars him from running again. However, since he was rather vague (he never said “storm the Capital building,” “attack congressmen” or “break in now”) that probably wouldn’t go through either.

I’m not even saying this has to happen or will work, but if I were Dem, I’d rather go that route.Last edited by TazzMission; 02-14-2021, 02:27 PM................................................... ..........................

Trumpism is the new platform on the Republican Party. They cannot live without it for fear of violence from Trumpists, and they will not live without it because it brings them easy avenues to power.
Trump and his family and various companies are losing a shot-ton of money and facing dozens of civil and criminal charges (even Panama finds them too corrupt to tolerate), they're losing or at risk of losing any number of high-value properties, his supporters are fomenting an internal war within the conservative camp, and he is faced with vastly better handling of a pandemic he chose to worsen by the man he lost his reelection to. His chances of getting into any public office again are poor and worsening by the day, but the rot that he exacerbated is still there and in many ways spreading.
Only time will tell if he ends up behind bars from criminal charges.Villain Draft 3: Fourth Place Winner

I actually support a coupe of things Trump did. One is getting our troops out of harm's way in places they should never has been sent. The other is acknowledging the plight of the white working class. This country had already acknowledged the working class's minority members.
What's terrible is his normalization of relentless lies by the president, and of personal attacks on those who crossed him that were vastly out of proportion to the provocations. That stuff was straight out of the playbook of the dastardly Roy Cohn, who was Trump's idol.
His Senate trial presented reason #2,999,999 why we need term limits in Congress, The Republicans were more interested in clinging to office than in doing the right thing, and they were terrified that Trump would come to their states and campaign against them in the primaries.

One aspect of Cohnism that is fundamentally sound is that if someone fucks with you, you need to make him pay a price for it. Otherwise you're inviting more abuse. Trump of course took it much too far, mainly because he has 88 million followers on Twitter who he loved to show off for, and was able to indulge in all manner of juvenile name-calling and insults.

Trump lost, and nobody stole the election from him. The voters rejected him, and then he peevishly provoked the Capitol Riot, which has made him even more unpopular. Yet I see Republicans extolling him and threatening other Republicans who tell the truth about him.
Well that's fine. I hope they keep on doing that for the next four years, so we can see how that works out for them.
