That's really sad, because I'm not in favor of beating people to death, but I always wonder in those cases of stuff being overturned, were they really innocent, or were they just not convicted correctly? I mean, the guy in question was already a registered third degree sex-offender for a case involving a minor at the time of the incident involved in this trial, so it isn't like it was that out-there to think he might have committed another offense.

Yeah, it's usually a case of the guy getting it overturned but was guilty anyway. I sure as hell hope this guy was a guilty scumbag. If he wasn't, that would mean his blood was on some woman's hands.

I know a couple of people who took plead guilty because they couldn't afford the cost of fighting the charge further. Our legal system isn't exactly great on those who can't afford to ante up.

Just as another point of order, if the victim was a minor at the time, she wasn't a woman. She was a child.

Just to be clear, the guy is either guilty, or the woman is a liar and should be prosecuted herself. I like the way you just kind of slide in there with an interpretation that blames someone else like the system or the judge. That's just obviously dishonest.

And she wasn't a minor.

This is absolute bullshit. Paying hundreds of dollars to learn the laws I'm expected to live by is a shameless and pathetic moneygrab only a whore would do. The states have a responsibility to their residents, and not allowing free and easy access to a critical part of their lives, or the lives of those wishing to come by either temporarily or long-term, is flatly oppressive.
