I'm planning on going to see it tomorrow. I'm more than sure it will at least be a fun romp. Seeing as how the Clone Wars is my favorite time in Star Wars history, I should enjoy it.

As far as continuity errors, hell, I saw Episode I. You can;t fuck up continuity any more than George did in that one. :

I've never understood that argument... how did Episode I fuck up continuity?
Do good. Be well. Make happy.

        MIDICHLORIANS.

That pretty much sums it up.

People told me to wait until the DVD in December. It was fun but nothing really to go out and see.

Oh please. You need a better reason to insult Episode I and the other prequels than scientific reasoning for the Force. That's like trying to say everyone should believe Dinosaur bones were put in the Earth to test our faith in God and give us Fossil Fuels.

Why can't there be both? Some people believe in the faith and religous side of the Force, some in the scientific. The scientific explanation works more realistically anyway. DNA, mutation, whatever it be that gives certain individuals others don't have, the ability to do miraculous things. Some more powerful than others. That's Evolution right there. Hello X-Men, Heroes, etc....

As far as the movie in question. It was as good as to be expected. It was an animated adventure about one specific small mission during the time of the Clone Wars. If anything it was fun, entertaining, had alot of action, for both battles and Jedi/Sith duels.

But if you delve deeper into it, it's a great character piece on Anakin. how he grows and learns, this time by becoming someones teacher instead of student for a change. It was a nice different angle on him. Just further hardening the blow of him going from hero to villain.

I had no problem with midichlorians... their addition just dictates the Force potential of an individual -- whether they actually reach that full potential is still a matter of training and discipline and whatnot. Literally, all it did was make it so that people with Force potential can be detected with a blood screening. Big effing deal.

And "The Clone Wars" is supposed to suck all kinds of Donkey Crack (infantile humor in between nonsensical loud booms and explosions)... but I'll reserve judgement for the DVD.

It actually wasn't so. There was a pretty good plot. <spoilers>The whole Dooku trying to decieve Jabba with the aid of his uncle, that the Jedi kidnapped his son, killing him and were going to come after Jabba as well. Both sides Republic and Seperatists(controlled unknowingly by the same damn guy) trying to gain the Hutt's aliance and safe passage and control of the outer rim trade routes. <end spoilers>

There was alot of explosions... But it's a WAR. Only one burp form the baby Hutt, due to taking medicine to break a fever he contracts during captivity. So he doesn't die in the hands of the Jedi before they can safely deliver him back to jabba.

I'll admit it was a little lighter in tone. But there was killing, decapitation, and some good emotional content as well. it was great to see the Jedi in full action too. That's the advantage of animation, no limits.

I enjoyed it, so did my daughter. it was worth the 10 bucks I paid for the both of us to see it before 5pm. The only thing that sucked was I paid 12 dollars for a large drink and a small popcorn...WTF!!?!

I keep thinking, if the animation and designs were better, say Final Fantasy quality. And looked really good and realistic, this movie might do better. And I know LFL can afford to make this movie look better.

                          What hapened?

They wanted it to look like the animated series that is going to follow it. Remember, this was supposed to be a direct to dvd feature that led into the new series. But they decided to release it as a summer movie to cash in at the theaters as well as the dvd sales.

That did not do a single thing to continuity... in fact, the way they are explained to Anakin by Qui-Gon does nothing but reinforce the explanation of the force Obi-Wan gives to Luke in Episode IV... its just in greater detail. But it does absolutely NOTHING to continuity, as it does not contradict anything presented in the original trilogy.

I don't think the Prequel trilogy screwed up continuity in any way, it just threw out every book that covered the origin of Boba Fett, Clone Wars, Palpatine, etc. None of these were in movie continuity anyway.

It's just stuff like Darth Vader built 3PO and Tattooine being the apparent center of the universe that I didn't like.
