I'm a huge star wars geek and believe the only way to see them the first time is in theaters, so I'll be taking my girl to see it sunday night.

Continuity issues aside, I love the clone wars period. (looks at the shelf containing every volume of Star Wars: clone wars, and every clone trooper and trooper variant action figure.) Why couldn't they have done a movie about Quinlan Vos instead...

I'll wait for Netflix or On-Demand. Everyone has been giving it complete shit reviews, and I have heard nothing good about this movie, and I am a big Star Wars fan. Kinda bummed, but from what I have heard, the animation is great, the script could have been done better by a five year old with a crayon, and that the story is complete poo. But please feel free to enjoy and prove me wrong.

Kinda pissed, was looking forward to it, now, not so much.

Why can't there be both? Some people believe in the faith and religous side of the Force, some in the scientific. The scientific explanation works more realistically anyway. DNA, mutation, whatever it be that gives certain individuals others don't have, the ability to do miraculous things. Some more powerful than others. That's Evolution right there. Hello X-Men, Heroes, etc....
I'm not even going to entertain this with a rebuttal mostly because it's just not worth the time it would take to type it. A large fantasy element of Star Wars that I grew up with and loved was completely lost when it was revealed that The Force was nothing but tiny parasitic bugs in an individuals bloodstream. Many many true fans of the series felt the same way.Geroge Lucas just does not know when to leave well enough alone.

There were so many other things wrong with Episoode 1 that it would take me forever to write them all down.

I will state that I did not care for that particular Episode, and that it was the weakest of the entire series, and in most places ( the podrace in particular) was down right boring and unneccessary.

I will give it this much though the "Deul of the Fates" lightsaber deul is by far the most spectacular of all 6 movies and is the only reason to see the film. As far as I am concerned, the best thing about the whole film was cut in half and dropped in a chasm at the end.

George was not at his best with this one, and I almost refused to see Attack of the Clones because opf it. BUt I am glad that I did, because the movies got progressively better after this one.

So I reserve the right to hate what I consider to be garbage, and I do not feel the need to explain myself any further.

        Thank you.

Pretty much sums up my opinion of the movie. I don't hate it nearly as much as most fans seem to, but I think a lot of fans have some ridiculous standards. It's no Revenge, it's no Empire, but it's still better than the first Harry Potter movie. I accept it as canon, watch the duel, and move on.

One thing I hear a lot of complaints about for the prequel trilogy is the romantic dialogue. Yes, it is terrible soap opera-ish dialogue. But I always have to ask these people 1 thing: "Did you watch the original trilogy?" Here's a sample of what passed for romantic dialogue:

          "Don't...my hands are dirty."
          "My hands are dirty too."

Wow George. Just wow. Anybody who watches these movies for romantic interactions is soft in the brain.

People need to get over episode 1 and 2 and remember that the prequel trilogy gave us the single greatest Star Wars scene of all time: Order 66.

Saw it at midnight, my thoughts:
This film is kind of mixed for me right now. First off, it will be a half hour show, so that will fix some of the dialog off. My main problem was that, the dialog. The story is about rescuing Jabba the Hutt's son, you know this because it is discussed in dialog every fifteen seconds. If someone is going to attack a target, they SAY it. That is annoying. We can tell what's happening on screen, we don't need a character to tell us. Also, the repeated use of each other's nick-names and titles is used to much. I don't go around calling my brothers there name in every sentence. Those are my two biggest complaints.

On the other hand, the direction is GORGEOUS. The character models, if you look closely at the faces, look like pastel work, again just gorgeous. I would like to see some usage of the shaky-cam-type camera moves used in "Attack of the Clones" and even more in "Battlestar Galactica."

The troops act like they are in a war, they are brutal, and the battledroids are kind of useless, but really freakin hilarious. If you don't find them funny... I don't know what to say!

Ahsoka really worked for me, but I would like to see more "down time." She's supposed to be Anakin's padawan, and we see them pester and nitpick each other, but never see him actually spending time with her, although that is something I assume will be dealt with in the animated series.

Now, Jabba's uncle that looks and acts like a 'she' needs to die. It's not funny, she speaks freakin english. Just kill her off please, I don't want to see her again.

Overall, I'd give it a "C" and it is a very good start to what I hope will be a great series. Oh, and the 20th Century Fox logo/fanfare was missed

I'd assume that the frequent use of names and announcing of actions is really being thrown at the target audience for this movie: kids. Making sure they know the names and understand everything for when the series hits. There are only so many people in the world who buy toys when they're adults. Gotta get the kids to do it.

                  Yo.

this was basically wat BSG: TOS did with their 1st 3 eps; the producers felt it was so good enuff to put it out as a theatrical release.

or better yet, read this (from IMDB):
The official Star Wars website announced that the film will lead the way for a television series will debut in the fall of '08. The TV series will air on Cartoon Network, TNT, as well as CTV in Canada.
and ya wanna know wat REALLY grinds my gears? I was watching this & feeling there was no real complexity to wat I was seeing.......then my friend ups and tells me the above after the movie was over; if THAT was the case, Id rather have saved my money and gone to see Mirrors!!

so yea, all of us who paid for it now will get to watch it for free again on CN real soon..........dammit!!

I actually liked it. My friend didn't, but it's easy to see why.

I went in expecting to see an animated kids movie.

He went in wanting to see Star Wars.

He was disappointed. I got what I wanted.
Also I really liked the animation. It was stylish without looking stupid.

How was it a kids movie? Did you not SEE the clone troopers getting killed?

People can get killed in kids movies. Hell every disney movie from my childhood had somebody getting killed.

The themes and dialogue were on par with a movie designed for children, even if it was more violent than most.

Oh god. This movie was such a waste of time. It never should have been made. It was basically the bad writing of the prequels, but minus the fun stuff that the prequels had that made them bearable at least for Star Wars fans. Christ, what has Lucas reduced the series to? Darth Vader is now nicknamed "Sky Guy?" How cute.

This was a shameless advertisement for the upcoming TV series, and that's it. It didn't deserve a movie in any way...I'm usually not one of those "THE PREQUELS SUCK!!!" kind of guys, because I think they're fun despite the bad writing and acting, but really, ever since the original trilogy, this franchise has gone down hill (RotS was the best of the prequels, I thought, if only because we finally saw Vader's transformation).

The fact that there was a character named Worm Loathsome in this movie is what really, for me at least, set it apart from any bullshit lucas has pulled before. yes, even hayden christensen in attack of the clones ( I probably spelled that wrong). heres hoping it improves as the series progresses. I will say this for the movie, though. the drag queen hutt was the funniest part of the whole film. I laughed hard in every scene he/she(hutts are asexual) was in, as did my friends. also, the bits with the clones were pretty nice, but there was a clone with red dreadlocks, and one with blond hair. weird.

The Preview for January return of this season's new episodes has a shocking scene included. Will Anakin's Padwan turn to the dark side?

Looks good! I'm glad they're finally getting back to the basics of SW: Saber dueling, space battles and clone armies blasting battle droids. This last season was too political and they spent several episodes on deregulating banks for more troopers instead of keeping the audience entertained with action.
